Tribute to JR

Recommended Posts

So... Uhm... Well, everyone's been asking why I've been upset. This is the reason why... Someone in my school... Committed suicide. I have no idea why but... She was two years older than me, and she'll be greatly missed. The whole school has fallen into depression because of this... I didn't know her, but I know her sister... It's... *sigh* Anyway, I wrote something for her. It's a small poem, but... Her initials were JR.

Why? Why would you do something like this?

Did you know? Did you know it would hurt?

Hurt... Everybody?

I wish... That you could see the people.

The people crying... For you.

The people hugging... For you.

If you didn't think anyone cared, you were wrong.

These people care... For you.

They miss... You.

If only you could come back.

All of these people... Need you.

The hearts dancing along the walls

Colorful, bright, beautiful

Like you.

Rest in peace... Please. I didn't know you, JR, but I'm sure you were an incredible person.

If you're wondering what the hearts are about, it's that... Well, some people cut out hundreds of colorful hearts and put them up all along the walls and lockers of the main hallway in school. It was dazzling...

Thank you for taking your time to read this... And let all of our wishes go with JR.

Death is never an easy thing... I've dealt with too many untimely deaths in my life. I suicide is the worst though because it was their conscious decision (I've only known one person, but that is one person too many), whether they were in the right mind or not they committed to doing it.

I feel for her and her family, and whoever knew her.

I hope you feel better Akako. And remember, they are never truly dead until they are forgotten ;)

That's sad, JR, do rest in peace;

That's a lovely poem as well Aka-chan

Though I must note, when someone decides to suicide they must feel really hopeless. But although they are 'brave' enough to face death they can't seem to face the problems in their life. It's rather a nerve-wrecking process... Then once they suicide, they carry a burden for all the people they've ever met, even people who never knew them. They impact people because it when that person is gone that the people surround them wake-up. Realize someone was wrong, realize they couldn't help. I've had a friend that wanted to suicide before, I do my best to help him, but decisions like this is when you're at war with yourself.. It's truly a terrible emotion to encounter.

My prayers tonight go to that person <3

Indeed this is real poetry, the type which comes during rare times in our lives...one which moves and stirs people's hearts...

Why do people commit suicide? Why do they give up? Why do they lose hope? Life seems to be such a puzzle, such an unending maze, such huge mosaic...some pieces fall apart and some remain...they're all connected, and when one is hurt, the others are affected as well...how sad life is...and yet, how blessed we are to be alive; how blessed we are not to have chosen to end our lives...how blessed we are that Hope has not forsaken us...

May JR rest in peace. And may this serve as an eye-opener for all of us.

I hope everyone at your school feels better soon.

Thanks everyone. <3 I'm sure she appreciates it... *sigh*

Anyways... I found out a few details about... Her plan.

She saved up money... Then she... Bought presents for her family. Then she went shopping with her sister the day before, walked the dog and... She went to the woods with a dog leash and... Argh.
