Southpaw 61 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 I don't know if this idea should be for the wiki or the main site (or perhaps both), but I think it would be useful to have a comprehensive table listing all the episodes and their source - whether they're from the manga, and if so which volume(s) and chapters. For the table of manga, it might be fun to have a list of who appears in the keyhole on the back cover. I know there are other sites that have episode lists, but if your goal is to be a comprehensive DC site, these two lists might be something to consider. Also, I thought it might be fun to do summaries/ reviews for all the movies, and perhaps OVA's (and magic files?). If you're unaware, the three magic files that have been released so far, are half-hour shorts associated with one of the movies, respectively. Magic File 2 is from movie 12, and Magic File 3 is from movie 13... I know absolutely nothing about Magic File 1, but I read somewhere that it wasn't very good, and wasn't actually released (so in turn, I also have no clue which movie it was for). Maurice 274 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 Those are really good ideas. It'll most likely be implemented in the wiki. We already started laying out the list of episodes for the Anime. We haven't worked on the manga just yet: we're following a milestones system. And I didn't know about the magic files! That's definitely interesting! About the summaries/reviews, this could be on both the site and the wiki. I actually already have a list of summaries for each episode in the database (which I took from Wikipedia). But I haven't added them to the site yet because they weren't a priority at the time. But I'll eventually come about implementing them at some point. I always try to do things by order of priority. A review system would definitely be a big plus when we have a bigger community.
Maurice 274 Report post Posted August 19, 2009 Hey Southpaw! Southpaw 61 Report post Posted August 19, 2009 that table is absolutely awesome! I can probably help by searching through my manga to match with eps (I know, a lot of them are listed either at the beginning or during the eye-catch)... although I only have a couple within arms reach right now, as the rest are in a box in the garage
Maurice 274 Report post Posted August 28, 2009 Or if you don't mind the "digital" way, you can go to http://www.onemanga.com/Detective_Conan/ to read any of the chapters. But remember that this is a long-term project. No need to rush. The goal is to have fun doing it at all times: just work on it when you feel like it and/or wants to (for fun). Southpaw 61 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 thanks for the message on my wiki page... I'm quite familiar with the method of seeing what came before in order to determine formatting anyway, I was doing exactly that just now with a couple volumes of manga in front of me, and I can't seem to figure out how to add the detail(s) onto the pages.... basically, it goes like this: I figured out that the season 9 episodes "The three "K's" of Osaka" (238-239) is from manga volume 29 file 9 through 11.... and episode 219 is from manga volume 30 file 4 through 7 (which I believe is also the first appearance of Hakuba Saguru) there are others in those volumes, of course, but I need to re-watch episodes or check summaries to make sure which is which and look to make sure the beginning of 29 isn't carried over from the end of 28 [edit] yeah.... episodes 230-231 are from volume 29 file 3 though 5; 242 is from volume 30 file 8 through 9; 240-241 is from volume 30 file 1 through 3 I think that's it... the beginning of volume 29 might be carried over from 28, and I'm pretty sure 30 is carried over to 31, and I'm not sure were the other case in the middle of 29 (files 6-8) are in the anime, if anywhere
Maurice 274 Report post Posted September 12, 2009 Sounds great. Looks like you made some intensive research lol. That's pretty cool. Feel free to edit the articles as much as you want and remember that it's all cool even if there are mistakes. That's what the wiki is all about: a community effort. We'll always be there to catch them or reformat text, etc.. Note that you can also use the "Discussion" tab of a page if you want to involve the community in helping you out with something related to the article being edited (if you're unsure of something for example or wondering if something should be put or not, etc...). The discussion page of the "Characters" page is a real good example of this: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Talk:Characters
Southpaw 61 Report post Posted September 12, 2009 not really that intensive it's just the two volumes of the manga that I have sitting next to me if I can see how they're filled in, hopefully I'll be able to do others myself as they come up
