Moonlight Magician 98 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 I just heard this Earth like planet that's twice larger than our planet. So what's your opinion about this one?

angelranchan 56 Report post Posted December 8, 2011 but it takes 22 million years(?) before getting there...
Black Demon 466 Report post Posted December 8, 2011 This is indeed exciting and interesting for research and such. Although I don't know if anyone should be happy about it.
mabel 59 Report post Posted December 8, 2011 Yay? Or no? Its a great finding...but it'll take toooooo long for us to get there...
Kyuu Nye 425 Report post Posted December 9, 2011 Yay? Or no? Its a great finding...but it'll take toooooo long for us to get there... NASA's goal will never be to go there though. Not unless we learn how to use Einstein-Rosen bridges (and determine that they are real for that matter) at least without being destroyed at least... However, it is of interest to determine if there is intelligent life on other planets. And theoretically if the planet is a twin of Earth then parallel evolution could have occurred and give insight to our eventual evolution. There are several other reasons, but that is by far the most interesting.
Tsukiko 73 Report post Posted December 9, 2011 I think it's awesome that out there is a planet like the Earth. Though, it's good that it's too far for us to reach. But I'm happy it exists.
angelranchan 56 Report post Posted December 10, 2011 It soo BIG! haha! But earthlings still the best! XD I wanna another living things besides earthlings...xD
Sayomi 17 Report post Posted December 10, 2011 Well this is a good thing and a bad thing. It's good because now there's another life-supporting planet out there... even if it's too far away. But it's bad because now we're just going to waste Earth's resources and stuff even more, because we'll take for granted there's another planet out there. tengaku squared 291 Report post Posted December 10, 2011 I think I heard something interesting about this planet, but once again, I completely forgot about it. So, my only comment: Cool!

Earth is still the best and Kepler22b is TOO FAR AWAY,and takes 22 MILLION years to get there so we're going to be dead before getting there, so WE STILL NEED TO TAKE CARE OF EARTH! Even there's another life supporting planet...because Earth is where we belong/came from.. ^ for all

That will be possible only if we somehow find a way to reach that planet. Remember it is 600 Light Years away. Reaching there via Space exploration devices is impossible. Time taken to reach that planet via rocket speed will be more than 7200 years. Also we do not have that quantity of fuel. Reaching K22b for now is only possible if we find some short-cut in space-time, ie Wormholes. But we do not have the technology to build a device which creates worm-holes as we dont fully understand wormholes and their existance have yet to be prooved. So for now, its IMPOSSIBLE to reach that planet.

Moonlight Magician 98 Report post Posted December 12, 2011 Einstein-Rosen? What are they? It's a theory of Einstein I think.

mabel 59 Report post Posted December 28, 2011 Ah. Now I know what it is. So its another name for wormhole. thanks, Kyuu!
