DCW IRL Round 5: Game, Set, Match!

Recommended Posts

"Trying to get out of it, I see." Mark sighed. This girl was putting up more of a fight than he expected. Of course, she can't outwit him, with a 200+ IQ and his incredible knack of making unescapable traps. He gently felt his pant pocket, feeling the outline of his hidden camera. The camera had more than enough footage to pin her as the culprit, without a doubt. However, the girl was really annoying her, so he went over with a first-aid kit.

He gave the girl basic first-aid, then whispered in her ear. "Hey, Sakila, or whoever you are. I know you want to kill me. But keep this in mind. I could have killed you over 389 times in the airport. There are 1,917 more ways to kill you during the rest of the day. And of course, all these times are untraceable back to me. What's your f**king plan, huh? Don't act up." He resumed giving the girl first-aid, then walked away after he was done.

(Oh my, that's a nice try.)

She'd satisfied her goal. Now, people didn't think she was the guilty one, or at least not too many of them did.

"What are you talking about?" Her eyes were tearier than ever, her voice watery. The Asian man and the other boy had given her first aid, but her wounds still hurt like hell. And now the Asian man had threatened her. He was so mean. Just so mean. Who did he think he was?

Does he think of himself as an authority figure or something? Just because you're older than everyone else doesn't mean you can scare me into being controlled! I don't have to sit through this!

"M-M-Misaki!!! Sakila ran over to the girl, her arms covered in bandages, her cheek cut badly. "Misaki! He said he'd kill me!! Stop it, please!" Sakila cowered behind the tall girl, shouting. Tears streamed down her face and she started to break out in sobs.

"STOP IT!! Just stop!!" She yelled at the man in desperation. "Ever since the plane landed here, you've been harassing and threatening me!! You're scaring me! I can't stand this anymore!" She sunk to the floor helplessly. "He keeps saying he'll kill me. He won't leave me alone. What did I ever do to him? He keeps saying things like he can kill me 1,917 times and something about a plan. Please, just leave me alone!"

The room was silent. The only thing that could be heard was her pathetic sobbing.

Kamila stared at the now-crying Sakila.

Then glanced at Mark, then curled up into a little ball. She waited for

someone to break the silence.

Why did she do that? Is it because she wanted attention? Maybe just to shed blood?

Maybe pick a fight? Maybe make scary-Mark-san a bad guy? Or maybe,

because of the incident that happened?

"STOP IT!! Just stop!!"

The sound of her voice echos through the room.

"....he can kill me 1,917 times and something about a plan. Plea-..."

1,917? wondered Kamila. She went back to listening.

(ouo now Mark's even more scarier.)

"Who's Feya?"

Misaki blinked before answering, "Feya is my friend! She's right here."

She grinned as she pointed next to her, where Feya was. Sakila stared at where she was, confusion apparent on her face. Misaki, other people can't see me, remember? You should elaborate as to why she can't see me.

So, per her friend's advice, she continued, "You probably can't see her. Feya is special, so special that not even my parents can see her. But she's still there! Say hi, Feya!"

Misa, I am not saying hi when she ca-

She pouted, unpleased that Feya wouldn't say hi. The woman let out a sigh before just going along with what Misaki wanted. Hello Sakila.

She pout quickly transformed into a smile, happy that Feya had said hi. Sakila replied, "Hi..."

After a few minutes was spent walking, the two walked into a room containing all the contestants. As Misaki babbled on, Feya noticed that the newly gained friend's attention was locked onto the man from the bus.

"...even though Feya has been with me since I was nine! I mean, I think blue's her best color, but she should experiment, right?"

The girl gave a nod, though she seemed still too preoccupied in something. Misaki didn't seem to notice though, so she decided to bring it up.

"See Feya, she agrees!"

I will wear whatever color I wish to wear Misaki. And also, is you're friend ok? She seems... Worried.

The girl blinked for a moment before saying, "Huh? ...Sakila, Feya asks if there's something wrong. Are you okay?"

Sakila's attention seemed to go back onto her friend as she paused for a second before responding. "Oh, um, no, let's take a seat."

With that, Misaki began talking animatedly again as the two took their seats. Feya stood next to them, not wanting for Misaki to get upset if someone "sat" on her.

Soon after they arrived, introductions were made. Once done, everyone went back to what they were doing before. As the two girls kept talking, the silver haired woman kept her attention on the other contestants.

Kamila, around 11-12, was playing a video game, though she could't see the game. She also noticed that the child kept glancing over to Sakila. Em, as the girl introduced herself as, seemed distant. She was alone, keeping to herself. But she was quite pretty even if she wasn't social. Johan was quite tall, and seemed rather social. He talked happily with the people around him. Tsukiko (her name didn't make much sense to her seeing how the girl was obviously of European descent) seemed to talk to others, but kept an eye on everyone. Ash also seemed social, though their face was rather androgynous, making it hard to tell what gender they were. Feya would assume what gender they were, but assuming never did any good. Mark... She would have to make sure Misaki was careful around him. He was probably the smartest person there, judging from his age and how he acted.

"Hey, Misaki," Sakila said in an overly-loud voice, "Did you hear about that incident at the airport? A girl beat up this poor little boy! It was so horrible~! I was in the teen section at the time, so I saw the whole thing!"

Misaki looked a little dumbfounded at the change in conversation. She was positive she was the girl who had been dragged out of the bookstore. You should go along with it. She may feel better if you pretend you don't know since she probably thinks you would judge her for what she did.

Even though she would never judge her new friend over something that happened in the past (especially since she didn't know what had really happened; that's what Feya would tell her), she said, "Really? Wow, you know, I actually thought YOU were the one who did that! I saw the girl too, and she looked just like you!"

Sakila gave a shocked look and jumped up from her seat. "What?! Me?! I... I would never ever do that! That's terrible! As soon as I saw that scene, I thought 'Why would she do that?'"

She began to step backwards, farther away from Misaki. The girl continued, "It's not nice to hurt children. That poor kid could've died! People like her... I hate. I really hate!"

She turned around dramatically--only to trip over the glass table she knew had been there. She made a surprised yelp and tripped, falling straight into the glass top. It broke into many small shards, cutting the girl up pretty badly. Misaki stared, not sure if she should go help her new friend or what. Misaki, stay put. Let the others take care of getting Sakila out of the glass shards since I don't want you to get hurt. So Misaki watched as Johan quickly approached her hurt friend, helping her up and asking, "Whoo! You should be more careful. Are you somehow OK?"

As he led her to a chair, he helped get some glass shards off of her. When she was seated, Mark began giving basic first aid, such as disinfecting the cuts and wrapping them. Feya noticed him whisper something into Sakila's ear, though she couldn't tell what was said. But it had obviously frightened her as she asked, her tone scared and her eyes watering, "What are you talking about?"

"M-M-Misaki!!!"

Sakila ran over to the girl, cowering behind her. As she sobbed, she shouted out, "Misaki! He said he'd kill me!! Stop it, please! STOP IT!! Just stop!!"

Her words became directed at Mark as she continued, "Ever since the plane landed here, you've been harassing and threatening me!! You're scaring me! I can't stand this anymore! "He keeps saying he'll kill me. He won't leave me alone. What did I ever do to him? He keeps saying things like he can kill me 1,917 times and something about a plan. Please, just leave me alone!"

By now, she had sunk to the floor, clinging onto Misaki's sweatshirt as she sobbed. The room fell silent, only her sobs being heard. Feya didn't know what to make of this scene. So she just watched as her friend knelt down and gently hugged Sakila, comforting her the best she could.

Sakila sobbed as Misaki held her tightly. She felt a little guilty for ruining Misaki's shirt with her salty tears. The room was silent--everyone was either too shocked to move or in deep thought. Sakila's sobs and Misaki's soft shushing echoed throughout the room.

But then, something changed.

There was a shift in the air and everyone became alert. The sobs sounded strange. In fact, they started to sound like...laughter?

Sakila was laughing.

Misaki was surprised and slowly let her go. "Sakila...? Sakila, what's wrong?" The laughter didn't cease. In fact, the girl was doubling over in amusement. She rose from the floor slowly, now chuckling softly.

"Ju~st kidding~" She grinned psychotically before her eyes rolled towards the top of her head and she passed out.

(@mabel: we haven't introduced right? :P how do you know my name is Amber? Lol. And I'm dressed like a boy - which made it difficult to tell whether im a girl. Take it like I'm something like Justin bieber. :P)

M found a wall far away from the crowd and leaned there, observing the others. There are quite a number of people, but only a few stand out. Gradually, people flooded the lobby. M couldn't tell whether they were staff or participants. But judging from the age, they should be participants. It was pretty surprising that there were so many seeing the letter saying that theyre the 'few' lucky ones.

But considering that all of them seemed to be from different countries and region, compared to the entire 'world', this is actually pretty 'few'.

M pulled her cap down lower and closed her eyes. The noise level was intense. But she wasn't really bothered by it. She filtered all the noise and took a rest to recover her strength and concentration. The air conditioning helped to cool her head (literally) and made it easier for her to rest. Even though she was used to having disturbances during sleep/rest, having to travel through night by plane would still tire her out a little, though the thing that tired her out the most was the searching for directions out of the airport and finding her way to the tv station. Her sense of direction is still her weakest point. This was why she was tired out. (nope not the walk nor the washing.)

After a few moments, M managed to shut off most of her senses and gave her brain some rest.

------

Just wanted to add something. :V I did mention that I didn't want people to call me Amber so I'll be introducing as 'M' instead. Prob not going to tell you I'm 'Amber'. Probably not going to react to that name as much as M. And I look like a boy after changing out of my school uniform and covering up my hair...

Oh yeas... Mark has 200+ IQ!? Lolllllllll xD wonderful. :V

"My, that girl has the imagination. Although, I can't blame her, given her mental condition." Mark stood up. "Some of you may have came through the airport and noticed a disturbing scene involving a girl kicking a boy. There was much blood. I would like to inform all of you of this: this girl is the perpetuator." He looked around, and satisfied at the attention he was getting, continued. "If any of you doubt her involvement in these actions, I have video proof, though I will refrain from showing it at this time."

"Do not believe anything she says. She is unstable, and cannot be trusted." Mark's expression was serious. "I have been entrusted with legal guardianship over the girl, and I will make sure she does not commit any further actions of violence." Same lies he told Ash. However, the people seemed to believe it.

"Of course, I did not do anything she claimed I did. I did not threaten her. I did not claim that I can kill her 1,917 times. I do not know anything about this plan she mentioned. Once again, she cannot be trusted."

The effect on the room was subtle, yet Mark was pleased. He managed to cover up everything, and there didn't seem to be a single shred of doubt. He marked this 'Sakila' as unstable, making sure her arguments would be ignored. As for the legal guardianship papers? Yes, he didn't have any, and he couldn't fake them. He could claim he left them in America. The Australian authorities have no power to force the American government to reveal the non-existent papers, anyway.

A plan was coming into Mark's head, and Mark admired its completeness.

(My character is a real jerk, isn't he?)

(@KKLT  of course, I thought you were introduced...I'll change it xD)

Kamila waited for scary-Mark-san to finish his speech-thing.

"I have been entrusted with legal guardianship over the girl, and I will make sure she does not commit any further actions of violence."

Liar. Kamila remembered clearly that he wasn't anyplace near Sakila.

But speaking of near, he might've been in another section...but technically

he should've sat beside/near her...and thats not really keeping her away from

further acts of violence...But I don't wanna ask him either.

Kamila looked at poor Sakila's body on the ground. She got up and dragged it to a nearby chair.

She quickly scurried back to her place in the room.

(@ Moho: Thats why Mark's scary.

@AG4E: Oooh, I'll do it i guess?)

Ash frowned, watching the scene but standing where she was, across the room from the others... The self-inflicted wounds won't make me forget what you did, Sakila... That boy did nothing to harm you With a sigh she leaned against the wall, observing the others. Mark, the one who had explained about Sakila, was trying to pass himself off as Sakila's guardian, and the girl had apparently had a fit and passed out. Everyone's got his own motive for being involved... She stared at Sakila, branding the image of her face in her mind. I won't forget... Then she glanced at Mark. If he were a guardian, he'd be the first over to Sakila, fretting or at least acting concerned rather than worrying about whether we know who he is. Besides, with the 'random' sending of the invitations to participate, there is no way she and her guardian would both receive one... I'll have to figure out who he really is later.

She took a pack of crackers out of her pocket and opened them, her eyes fixed on the girl at the opposite wall. She was also not involved in the gathering around Sakila, and so seemed the most calm. She'd have to remember to talk to her later and find out what she thought about the others. Taking a bite of a cracker, Ash frowned, thinking about the 'show' ahead. If everyone in the hall was participating, there could be trouble, especially from the two who seemed to be the center of attention. With a shrug she ate another cracker, glad that at least some justice was being served...

When Sakila fell on the glass table and the shards flew everywhere, Tsukiko stiffened for a moment. That rang a bell about one incident four years ago... At junior high she had thrown a drinking glass in the wall and missed by a few centimeters one boy's head. The boy had been taunting and speaking ill of her the whole year and also done it that time. The glass she had thrown had been only a warning and she hadn't even aimed his head but what annoyed her most were the rumours that started after that and driven the majority of her friends away.

The ringing of Tsukiko cell woke her up from the inner flashback. She pulled it out from her jeans pocket and checked the callers ID. Mother...

"Hello?"

"Don't hello to me young lady! Where are you?"

"Australia. Didn't I leave the message?"

"You went to that??? Why?"

"Once in the lifetime opportunity. There is only few of us here."

"How many?"

"Ni-, eight."

"Eight? Are you all from Finland?"

"Nope. Only Johan and I. The rest of us are from somewhere else. USA and Asia I guess."

"..."

"Mum? Are you still there?"

"Yes... Yes, I am. Take care of yourself okay? Stay calm and come back home alive. Don't kill anyone."

"I know. Bye, luv ya!"

"Love you too."

Tsukiko frowned as she pocketed the cell. Did mother know something or why she was so interested in the number of participants? There was nothing in common with them except they all were more or less crazy and lonely personalities. And their ages were about the same: from 15-20, if Tsukiko had to guess.

"I don't know why we were invited here but I know it wasn't a coincident it was us nin-, eight." She said aloud, over the fuss the others had caused. "I don't know is it like in Zettai Karen Children(manga) or like in Replica(a book serie) or something else. Or do our parents know something... Honestly no idea and this is purely speculation but I'm sure there is something else behind."

(Could The GM continue this. This is not going to go anywhere. Oh and how did I got my knife drought security in the airport?)

All the others were talking to each others but Johan was sitting elsewhere. He was watching how others would act if he had said what he knows.

"Mark is not what he says that he is. I have seen him. Before. I'm sure"

But at that moment someone from the TV station came in.

(and if ^that's not allowed to say, it doesn't exist)

Kamila took her Ds and started to play again. She noticed someone come in.

Don't post for the time being. She's been gone for two days and she should know better than to just leave a thread hanging like that.

Or we just will take justice to our own hands

You make it sound like we're condemning someone and you don't agree with my judgement. An RP round is difficult to manage without someone somewhat maintaining the flow. And like all of you said, this thread is not going anywhere without Rose and with just the players guiding it.

Well Rose told me to pass a message that she'll probably be posting on Thursday some time before IU posted. It was my mistake actually then since I haven't relayed the message yet.

I wonder if you guys can just look over this temporarily? =X

And then again, she did say she'll allow me to help her out if ever she was busy, so how about this... If everyone doesnt mind, I can take control for the time being before she gets back? =X

(That is... If its not against the rules for a 'player' to help out... =|)

(^I've heard that you actually did kind of help her with the concept as well.

Plus, KKLT's in because of her MVRP title from the last round. I'd say she's the best person to take on the role of mod--can we vote on it or something? Personally, DCW IRL has been one of my more favorite ones so far. I'd like to keep going.

KKLT's character is also one of the most mysterious. It seems feasible that she's secretly the mastermind behind this, right?)

Ah, yes, I did give the MVRP title to her. :V

Though KKLT may potentially the best choice, I'm a bit iffy on allowing a player to be a temporary moderator, even with the current moderator's permission. If we are going to have a vote, I will vote against this move, mainly because I believe the moderator should always be responsible unless the circumstances deem it otherwise.

I hold a similar stance as IU on this: A moderator should be responsible enough to not leave the thread "hanging", as IU nicely put it. I have previously observed Rose's behavior during my round, and I have noted her general inactivity during the round that had led me to kick her for inactivity.

I would like to see IU's stance on this.

I'm going to ask you to pause this round.

If Rose returns as expected, she carries on with this round, though with a warning. A mod should post him/herself if he/she is leaving and assign a member who is not participating to moderate the round. I love you and I know you well, KKLT, but I don't think a player should be the moderator. I doubt it will happen with you, but with other people, it will result in bias. A moderator is supposed to be unbiased and it's difficult even for the most experienced. If I allow an exception this time, then in the end, people will probably end up completely ignoring the rule.

I'll look into this round with more depth (honestly speaking I have not been tracking this round) and come up with further solutions.

While you're waiting for Rose to return, I'm going to ask you all to design an NPC. Not create, design. Write their bio, post it here (no discussion here please), and when Rose returns in time, you can take a vote on the best 2-3 NPCs just so all of you have more flexibility. I'll talk to her about the current round as well.

EDIT: I'll be following this round more closely now and double-checking your activity. If Rose is not back by Thursday (I'll be asking someone to make sure for me as I'm leaving fairly early and don't want to be unfair to Rose since I didn't get back to this thread until a few days after she was gone), this thread will be closed. I'm sorry to those who really enjoyed it, but I don't know if I can find a suitable moderator at this time and without notice.

I see. (And I agree with you that a player should not be a moderator.) Even I am not really confident I won't be biased. :V I'll go with your decision. Thanks for considering. :)And thanks~ I love you too <3

Will discuss about the NPCs stuff in PMs. It's a good idea for when there is inactivity.

And I really do hope the round won't be terminated! DX Roseeee come backkkkk~~~~
