Officer Kaoko 142 Report post Posted July 29, 2010 Ohayo mina-san! Sorry¬ I had logged in long time ago, bu I never introduced myself properly... First of all ... I'm a human ... and a weird one . My name/alias is Kaoko (Kaoko is my Japanese name, though, no one calls me that. Most people call me Cola (pronounced as 'Cola' for soda 'Coca-Cola' (it's more like a second name to me )), I know it's pretty rare and that's why I chose it And you probably think that I am a Kaito x Aoko fan (as one of the members pointed it out ) but unfortunately... I am not Here's a basic history of Kaoko: Although it's rather lame (no, it's cool!). At first my public name was 'Miss Blue Hyuga', yes I know... it was totally uncool! I put 'Blue', because it's my favorite color. And the name 'Hyuga', I took it from the anime series, Naruto... yeah, the Hyuga Clan that is... And Hinata Hyuga is one of my favorite characters. After awhile, I thought it was kind of lame... and I decided to change it... And 'Kaoko' came to mind... Just to let you know, 'Kaoko' is a name that just popped into my head from nowhere... then I tried to figure out if 'Kaoko' had any special meanings. I googled on the web for 'List of Japanese Female Names'. I got one amazingly long list, but I just couldn't find 'Kaoko' in there. Umm... and then I googled it in Google Images, but all they give me is these weird picture of strange products (that I've never heard of). If I tried to figure out myself what does 'Kaoko' stands for (in Japanese)... it'd be: '顔' (kao), a Kanji for 'face', and '子' (ko) a Kanji for 'child'... Face Child? Weird... makes no sense at all! So... yeah, I decided to put 'Kaoko', the mysterious name... Ah! No, no, no! Actually... of how I got the name was: My real name begins with 'K', and if you tried to Japanize it, it'd turn to 'Kaora'... I actually took away the 'ra', and added the 'ko' instead. So it became 'Kaoko'... yeah, 'Kaoko' is a pretty cool name so I decided that it should be my alias . And then when I tried to change my display name to 'Kaoko', just 'Kaoko' itself sounded boring... so I added 'Detective', which sounded more interesting and cool . Anyway, I was born in September 23rd and year of birth of Detective Conan series . Detective Conan: I first know that show/series when I had no mind/brain of my own . The first time I knew about Detective Conan was at my grandmother’s mansion, I was 6-7 years old back then and I can remember that I was such brat . Also, now my grandmother is no longer alive, my aunty lives there... there’s a bookshelf in the living-room full with manga and comics… although, I always picked manga such as Doraemon, Crayon Shin-chan, Dragon Ball, Ninja Hattori, Bobo-chan, etc. mangas that interest 3-7 years old children (although Shin-chan is not for small children , but I didn’t care at all, since it’s very funny ). When I read all the mangas that I liked in the bookshelf , I decided to read mangas that I didn’t read or know about . That’s when Detective Conan caught my eyes; my first expression when I saw the cover was that the cover doesn’t interest me at all , since the background was a real picture (not drawings), but because I don’t have anything to read at the moment, I decided to take a look and read it … I took the book with me at night time to my room and begin to see inside … Woh¬ Blood?! Corpse?! Body in pieces?! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH (but interesting )¬!! It’s true that that night I did have a nightmare… after that day; I tried to be brave and see it! Also, I did! I tried to hold my heart from bursting! Well, it was very interesting! Even though I couldn't understand anything at the moment, and couldn't know what was going on (the volume that I read wasn't the 1st volume)... I don't know how but, I saw something and I begun to like it, I can't remember what it was, but I think it was something to do with Ran and Shinichi's romantic time~ Hahahaha! I don't have a damn clue how I got however hooked to the show when I found myself addicted! Even though I don't have brain at the moment, I got the general idea of the story . Brat -> crush -> BO Brat = adult -> love -> girl (Ran) Haibara -> make poison, ruined brat life Moustache man -> stupid Agasa -> Doraemon BO -> bad At that time, I liked romance. But not the kind of romance when the two couples always says 'I love you' to each other all the time, hugging kissing and all!! And in no time they will fight and depart!!! I like a kind of romance that between two people yet revealing their true feelings to each other... that's what I can call romantic! Ah, please don't considere me rude, I'm only speaking my mind XD! At that time, I wasn't so hook at the anime, if they are broadcasting it on the TV, I will eagerly watch, and if there ain't, I'm not complaining... I'm beginning to get very interested in it when I was in the age of 13... I read all the mangas (online, beecause in the country I was staying in, I can't find anywhere to buy it, also, ordering it from Amazon, the fee is too expensive), and now I'm watching the anime, episode... umm... 330 and up... I also watch episodes that was originally from the manga, since in the anime, they usually shows up more details... I prefer watching Detective Conan in Japanese, because in American version, they changes the name (whichi wasn't necessary ), and some of the voice actors/actress doesn't suit the characters. Like Conan's voice in English version, it's too childish and sounds quite like a woman... Ran's voice is too grown up! Kogoro's voice doesn't quite suit him. In Japanese version, his voice is harsh and more like him... in English version, his voice just quite doesn't suit him (even if the voice actor had a nice voice), he sounds more like a polite gentelmen then a drunk, womanizer and a freak (as in Japanese version My 5 top animes are: Detective Conan, Naruto, One Piece, Fairy Tail and maybe Bleach... Oh, I think I said too much... but before I say goodbye, I would like to tell you something... I liked writing stories from my mind! Aka Peiji 2 Report post Posted July 30, 2010 Since you are a member that's been here a while, like Shuu stated, it's not really necessary to welcome you. However, it is nice to learn a bit about you and your history with both Detective Conan and your life. I really find it interesting from the countries you've visited and the languages you know. How privileged you are, despite you aren't attending school anymore. :3 It's interesting to know the semi-humorous story behind getting to know Conan as well, and even more still that you are continually learning and furthering your education for Japanese (I myself am holding up on that endeavor for the time being, since I have other matters to worry on) and other languages. My grandmother is not a fan of Detective Conan or any manga or animes! It's true that the mansion is hers after my grandfather's death, but then, after she died, my aunty (my mother's sister) is living there with her 3 children. My cousins the ones who are fans of manga! Not my grandmother! Have you ever consider a woman late at her age, reading mangas!!! Hahahaha, it's very funny just to imagine it! And even if there's one... I would like to see it !
