"Hm, been better, I guess." Sakila popped the lid of another container of yogurt. She offered one to Vivi before pulling out her spoon and quickly digging in. "How about you? How's the Rebellion? And your brother?"

"Okay, I guess. Lately, the Armed Forces have been rowdy. And he's...fine. Recovering." Vivi looked away and Sakila felt bad for bringing up a sore topic.

"Okay, okay! So tell me Veevs, are there any hottie Rebels?" Sakila leaned forward and wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, lazily swinging her spoon around before bringing it to her mouth again.

"..."

"..."

"What in the world is... is... Veevs?"

"Ah, well I just thou--" Sakila was cut off by a familiar ringtone.

"Makes me feel doko--BEEP"

Vivi raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that a really old--"

"Helloooo!!! Hahaha! What's up, Mokou?" Sakila blushed and answered quickly to avoid Vivi's question. She really should've changed her ringtone before. It was too conspicuous.

"Sakila? Where are you?! Do you realize that there's been an attack right near your post? Your subordinates aren't able to help the villagers evacuate in time! Get back now!"

"What?! On my way!" Sakila ended the call and browsed around on her phone.

"Sakila, what happened?"

"An attack. Near my post. I need to go.... Darn, why can't I get any signal?!" Sakila ran outside, and hacked into one of the security cameras near the site of the attack. The feedback showed chaos and confusion.

"Vivi! It's Petya! Let's go!"

And with that, she ran off.

"Oh that jerk." Vivi muttered. "Anyway, Sakila... catch."

She threw a pair of... something... to Sakila.

"What's this?" Sakila asked.

"Heh~ Something I made..." Vivi had a smug look on her face, "...which can get us there in 5 minutes. Clip it on your shoes. Tie it for more security."

"Ok..." and Sakila did as she was told.

*Vroo...VRooo.. VROOOOOOM!* Wheels popped out from the device, and generated an air burst, pushing Sakila forward suddenly.

"OH MY Go- WHooooooaaaa!" Sakila barely managed to keep her balance as Vivi chuckled at her hilarious reaction. She bent down and pushed the power button on her shoes and the same thing happened.

"Let's go then." And she sped off after Sakila.

It was scary as heck at first, but soon, Sakila was able to forget her fear and enjoy the wind in her face.

"THIS IS TEN TIMES MORE AWESOMER THAN BIKING!!!" She heard a distant giggle behind her.

In record time, they reached the village and Sakila immediately felt guilt strike her down. What was she doing?! This was no time to be enjoying herself! People were in danger!

"Vivi! Vivi, turn this off!"

"Hmm. Okay. It's getting close to my limits as well." Vivi took a deep breath and commanded. "You can stop now."

The control was lost and the power in the shoe was lost. Unable to control the speed, Sakila continued going forward due to inertia, straight towards one of the enemies.

"Wait... Wait wait!" She zoomed straight at the face of the enemy, and not knowing what to do, she decided to use this to her advantage and did a jump kick on the poor guy.

*Crack*

Sound of ribs breaking. The plate was made of enhanced steel.

"Oops. Sorry..." Sakila apologised as she pulled the device off her shoes.

"Nice one Sakila." Vivi giggled as Sakila pouted her face back at her.

======================

We made it! XD

"Hey, those two over there! Get them!!"

"This doesn't look too good..." Sakila muttered. She backed up slowly with her fists raised in front of her as troops srrounded them. Something cold stopped her. Sakila turned around to see an old machine behind her. It looked like an incinerator or a some kind of crusher.

"Hey, Vivi.... Can you do something with this machine behind us? I'll distract them and give you some time." With that, Sakila activated Hidden Dragon.

"Huh?! Where'd she go? Don't tell me... an ability--oof!"

The man keeled over for a second before his head was forcefully smashed against the ground. Crack.

One down.

Sakila advanced toward the rest of the soldiers, wary not to give away her position. She'd gone through some basic training to join the 8th Battalion and tried to rely on that. She only hoped Vivi would be able to help.

"Hmmm... What can I do with... this?" Vivi muttered to herself. "Looks useless to me..."

"Hurry!" Sakila yelled, from somewhere.

The enemy managed to break her defence and came at Vivi.

"Vivi!!!" Sakila warned.

One of the men pointed a gun at her and got ready to shoot.

"Humph." Vivi scorned as she took a leap in the air and with her speed amplifier shoes, she kicked the generator hard, which flew and slammed onto him, knocking him away. This however, caused the generator to break into pieces.

"Wait, what are you doing Vivi!?"

Something that flew out of the generator had caught Vivi's eye. She zoomed to it and picked it up.

"Hmmm... This could be useful." Vivi smirked.

A Centrifugal fan. A quite powerful one at that.

Sakila felt one of the men grab her wrist.

"Ah! Hey, I think I've got h--OW!"

Sakila bit his hand and dropped down to sweep his legs out from below him. The man hit the ground and Sakila slammed her sneaker-clad foot against his neck. She heard a sharp exhale and wondered if she'd killed him.

"Hurry!" Another soldier attacked her blindly, guessing her position. Sakila ducked, barely missing the knife. She grabbed at another soldier's arm, attracting attention and moved out of the way right before the knife could hit her. The knife instead sank into the chest of the man whose arm she'd grabbed. A scream of anguish came from the soldier.

A few of the troops realized that Sakila was preoccupied and advanced towards Vivi.

"Vivi!!!"

She watched as Vivi broke the machine behind her and attacked the oncoming soldiers.

"Wait, what are you doing, Vivi?!"

Sakila dodged another attack and decided to play dirty, kicking the soldier where the sun don't shine and watching as he fell to the ground easily.

She heard a whirring coming from behind her. "Vivi?"

"I don't know what that girl's about to do, but it ain't gonna work! Got the generator?" Two soldiers with a clunky, huge machine walked up to the man and dropped the machine gently. "For years these ability users have been a thorn in our sides...let's see how useful they are without their precious abilities!" The man flipped a switch and the machine began to whir. It glowed blue, and suddenly, with a jump, emitted a blue shockwave that reaches out as far as he could see.

All of a sudden, Sakila became visible, Jackson stopped using Mach Step, Tasha fell from the sky, William lost his iron skin, and Mokou groaned after being hit by a bullet.

William shouted, "I reckon this would never happen! An Inhibitor! Jackson, sir, we should retreat! Our abilities are zapped and we're outnumbered!"

============================

(You gotta let me have some fun. Inhibitors, yay! FYI, Inhibitors are new tech, and William came up with the name on the spot. No one has seen one before this.)

Sakila felt a pair of arms around her and became immediately aware of the ground digging into the right side of her face.

Wh-what?!

"Got you, you brat!" Sakila realized she was no longer cloaked. A sharp slap stung her cheek.

She could only barely hear the words among the chaos: "...we should retreat...abilities are zapped...we're outnumbered!"

It sounded like a good idea. Now if only this bozo would get off of her....

"You know...there are many advantages...to being a girl," Sakila began, twisting and turning her head around.

"Quit trying to escape," the man holding her captive sneered.

"Too easy." As soon as she got close-enough, Sakila let out an ear-piercing scream. The man was stunned stiff for a moment and Sakila saw that as a window of opportunity. She poked him in the eyes and kneed him in the stomach before pushing him off and running over to Vivi.

"What now?! Because at this point, running seems like the best option to me!"

Sparrow laughed, nervousness tinging the edges. "Uh, no re'son... I'm fine."

She smiled in Jackson's general direction as she added, "Jus' curious, Jacks."

The girl squirmed a little in her chair, acting uncharacteristically. "Uh... well... Misaki's 'ere, ain't she...?" she asked as a sigh fell from her lips.

"Soooo.... It's funny, really. On my way, I kinda, sorta... fought- 'im... an' 'e cheated. An' I can't see any of ya... haha, ain't that funny?" Again she laughed, her chuckles filling the otherwise silent room. "Just sayin', I didn' do anythin' reckless."

"It's not good to lie, Spar."

Misaki jumped just a tad at the sound of William's voice. I swear, he's a ninja... While the man did come to their meetings, he always had a way to blend in, hence making her jump whenever he spoke. As he put one hand on Sparrow's shoulder, he informed, "Jackson, sir, the weapon shipment got delayed by the recent Armed Forces attack. The attack scared off the trucks, so we'll be low on arms for a bit. I recently got word that Spar here chased off the entire attack nearly singlehandedly, but got hit by Blind Eye."

Her gaze fell upon the girl, feeling a bit jealous despite the temporary blindness that plagued her. What?! Sparrow got to fight?! Lucky~ Wish I had been there.

"We'll be without one of our best fighters, and low on arms," Jackson said, a frown falling onto his face. The mood in the room soured considerably from the news, including her. Damnit! Now of all times?

"It looks like we'll have to fall back on our regular operations, sadly. Unless we get Brent to lend a hand..."

Misaki could hear the shifting of weight, the slight discomfort of the mention of the 8th Battalion leader apparent. Brent was well known, and public opinion of him varied among the Rebellion. Personally, her opinion of the man was decent from being under his leadership for a year even though she ended up leaving due to lack of action.

"For now, we will hold off on our operations, and get Brent's assistance along with his entire battalion. Misaki, I'd like you to get in touch with him. Bring a team."

She straightened up at the mention of her name as she said, "Yes sir! I'll be back as soon as I can!"

And with that, she ran out of the room, grateful to finally be able to do more than listen to plans. She entered the streets, her speed the same as when she had left the room. She wasn't lying when she said she'd be back ASAP. But after a while, she could feel herself slow down, tiredness catching up to her. As she slowed to a walk, she contemplated whether it'd be better to rest and run or just walk when she heard a loud honk. Misaki turned towards the noise before letting out a small grin.

"Hey there Misaki! Long time, no see! Need a lift?"

EDITS: (Urgh gosh. I should never submit anything from my iphone... =__= Need to do some adjustments).

"Oh gosh..." Vivi watched as Sakila turned visible and the rest of them was released from their abilities. She tried using her ability on the fan. Not working.

"I need your help." Vivi whispered to her little partner.

"Help! Help! No problem! No problem!" The litte bird chirped.

"Heh. We have to try and turn off the generator." vivi told the bird. "Shall we go?"

The little bird nodded

"Alright, but we gotta do this fast. Power running low." Vivi commented as she checked the battery remaining in the roller plates.

"Alright let's go." Vivi commanded as she stepped down hard on the shoe. The roller plates on her shoes started charging up air.

The air vent blasted from her shoes and sent her flying towards the generator when she released the pressure.

"Get her!" the enemies exclaimed. "Dont let her get to the generator!"

"Humph. Suckers! I'm fine with not using my ability!" vivi stuck her tongue out at them. "Come and catch me if you can, idiots!"

"Oh no you don't!" one of the men shouted as he pulled out a laser and aimed at Vivi.

"Keh." Vivi changed her direction in mid air and dodged the laser. Suddenly, out of her blind spot, an array of bullets were fired at her.

"Shit!" She cursed as one hit her in her arm and a few more in her legs. "Urgh!!!"

The injury caused her to lose control of the shoes. She bent down and adjusted the speed and changed her course to avoid getting hit by more bullets.

"Hah! Take that!"

"Vivi!" Sakila yelled as Vivi fell while landing. Sakila tried to head towards Vivi but she had her own trouble to deal with. Without her abilities, she couldn't turn invisible and couldn't get past the enemies. "Vivi!"

"Ah ah... This is embarrassing." vivi coughed as blood flowed from the wounds. She looked at her watch. "Three more minutes. Hurry..."

Vivi took off the roller plates from her shoes as it was preventing her to walk properly. She had to struggle to pick herself up as she needs to escape the approaching enemy.

"This is troublesome." Vivi sighed. She then proceeded to pull out a cube from her jacket. It was an invention given to her by one of the technicians in Nubinelle Rebellion. Vivi tried to ask what that is but they tried to be mysterious so in the end she has no idea. "I wonder if this would help." She thought.

Vivi shrugged and pressed the button on the cube. All of a sudden, the cube lit up and surrounded her. Everyone was stunned by the sudden event and turned to her direction to see what was going on.

"what?!" Vivi shielded her eyes from the bright light. After a moment, about 5 seconds approximately, it faded. And nothing happened.

"Wait a minute... Nothing???" Vivi exclaimed, clenching the cube in her fist in confusion and frustration. Ignoring what happened, the enemy continued charging at Vivi with their laser guns.

"Shit! I'll get you when I manage to get back Mr. Technician!" Vivi muttered under her breath as she made her escape.

However, with her leg injury, she couldn't move very far and one of the enemy managed to catch up. "This is bad." Vivi panted as the enemy readied his laser gun and started the charging.

Instinctively, Vivi turned around immediately and threw the cube at the laser gun. The cube hit and the laser fired up into the sky.

"You ba*****!" the man immediately pulled it back and tried to shoot her again. At her current distance, it was impossible for her to reach the man and stop him, but it was the perfect shooting distance. The man recharged the gun and aimed it at her.

"Goodbye my darling." he smirked and pressed on the trigger.

"Shit. Looks like I'm not gonna make it..." Vivi turned to prepare herself for an impact.

One... Two... Three... Four... Five...

No impact. Vivi turned around to see that the gunwas still not fired.

"What??" Vivi was confused. The enemy were confused themselves. He couldn't press the trigger.

"Good opportunity." Vivi grabbed into the roller plates and activated the power switch and she flew straight at the enemy. "Take that!" she yelled and kicked him in the groin. The laser fell From his hand. Vivi turned to pick up the laser. And while at it, from the corner of her eye, Vivi saw saw something glowing. She took a closer look. It was the cube.

"Don't tell me?" she looked at the laser gun, then she looked at the cube. "Lets try."

She pointed the laser gun at the guy on the ground.

"Haha you think I'd be threatened? The trigger is locked and will only fire with our own fingerprint." the guy chuckled. "Try and shoot me if you ca-"

*ZAAPPPPP!*

Vivi fired at the guy's legs. It went splat. "Arrghhhhhh! Howwwwwe!?" the guy yelled in pain.

"Heh." A grin surfaced on vivi's face.

*ZAPPPP. ZAPPPPP ZAPPPPP!* she proceeded to fire at the rest of his limbs and then left without wasting any time, leaving the screaming guy behind.

"Hey there Misaki! Long time, no see! Need a lift?"

Sayuri grinned as she leaned over her handlebars. It had been a while since she had seen the younger girl. Misaki gave a smile back as she responded, "I'll take one if you can give one."

The blonde woman responded, "I'm offering for a reason! So, where to?"

"Battalion's HQ," the girl said as she eased herself onto the motorbike.

"HQ?" she asked, "What for?"

"Jackson wants me go get Brent for him."

"Well in that case," she replied, "we should hurry on our way!"

And with that, Sayuri started the motor and began to weave her way through the streets of Nubinelle. They arrived to the 8th Battalion HQ after 10 minutes of driving. Misaki got off the bike as she asked, "Wanna come in with me? I need to get a team from you guys as well so maybe if you're there you'll get picked."

"Sure!" she exclaimed. "Just let me park, OK?"

Ash had heard the explosion that happened just after Misaki had left. Before anyone could tell her not to, she disappeared, headed in its general direction. Precious minutes later she arrived at the area, and promptly drew her scythe. "Damn armed forceless." She could tell by the sound of their weapons that they were ganged up on two people... and then she heard a familiar voice, "Good opportunity." Ash hurried to that area, knowing from the tone who it was. Vivi, another rebel. Hoping she was facing her, she asked, "You alright, Vivi?" Ash felt somewhat responsible for the younger girl's safety. If I'd just finished the general, she wouldn't be injured. "Is Petya 'ere? I got a score ta settle with 'im..." She brought her scythe down over an enemy behind her, sighing.

After dealing with the guy with the laser, the rest of the enemy team had somehow caught up. Vivi had to escape immediately. She wouldn't be able to deal with so many at once, especially when she could not use her ability. As she turned to leave, she heard a familiar voice. She turned to its direction.

Sparrow. "Whatcha doing here?" vivi asked without a greeting.

"hmmmm?" on closer inspection she found out that something was wrong with her. "What happened to your eyes sparrow?"

As she was about to answer, a few enemy beams were shot at them, barely missing vivi.

"Shit. They're fast." vivi cursed under her breath. "No time to talk. Let's go." Immediately, vivi grabbed Ash and darted away, ignoring the bullet wounds on her arms and legs.

Sakila watched from a distance as Vivi and the girl named Sparrow made their way out of the battle area.

Good. At least they made it out. Now if only they hadn't forgotten about little old me....

Sakila bit her lip and ran behind a nearby building, taking shelter from the troops. Ahead of her, the entrance to the village pass was ablaze. There was no way she could enter that way. Gritting her teeth, Sakila skirted around the fences and made her way inside the village through a hole in the chain-links. The fence scratched against her back and she curled her hands into fists while she pushed herself through. As soon as she was inside, she ran toward the center of town.

Thankfully, the other 8th Battalion members were able to gather all the villagers safely and were escorting them out in groups.

"Hey!" Sakila called out to one of the nearby team members. "How's it been so far?"

The team member looked surprised but answered her. "Well, the group that just left is the sixth one. We have three more left. We...didn't know you were here."

"Well I am. Where are they headed?"

The girl nodded in their general direction. "The south pass, opposite from the battle."

"Alright, keep up the good work. I'm going south to make sure there are no complications."

"W-wait!"

Sakila turned back around. "What's up?"

"Some...some of the villagers thought were were taking too long so...."

"So? What happened?"

"They're headed eastward to escape that way."

"What are you talking about?! A few villagers wouldn't be able to have the manpower to lift the iron gates we installed there last year! Are they out of their minds? It's a dead end!"

"They know that! They said 8th Battalion tactics are useless. They...they plan to use the underground tunnels that lead east. But the entrance to those tunnels are near the north pass."

"It's a suicide attempt, then. Quick, get the rest of the groups out of here! I'll turn them back!"

Sakila ran off in the direction of the fire. She hacked into the camera by the north pass on her phone. Shoot, I can see them! Which mean so can the troops. She turned two corners and kept running, passing by her apartment. She continued monitoring the situation on her phone. There's no way we'll last at the front for too long, not without the ability users. Not with the way the battle is going so far. But if we retreat, it'll be trouble for the remaining villagers. It's them or us, someone's going to die at this rate! Why, oh why, do these people never listen to the 8th Battalion?!

Sakila stopped to catch her breath for a second before running full speed towards the underground tunnel entrance. I can't convince them myself.... I need help! I need someone to help me get these villagers back as fast as possible!

Vivi had grabbed sparrow and headed away from the pursuers. She found a good hiding spot and pulled sparrow in.

"We're hiding for a while." Vivi whispered to sparrow as she panted, mostly Out of pain from the bullet wounds

"You're injured?" Sparrow asked, hearing Vivi's disturbed panting.

"Hm. I knew it. There's something wrong with your eyes. Mrrgh!" Vivi groaned as she plugged out one of the bullets from her leg. "kkkrrr..."

"Need my help?" Sparrow asked.

"Nah. Mmmmphhh! Ugh!" Vivi plucked out another and replied. "hffffff... You can only make it more painful."

"Okay..." Sparrow didn't know whether she meant her ability, or something else, but nodded anyway.

"Done." Vivi announced as she threw away the last of the bullets. She was already panting very heavily due to the pain but by takin the bullets out, she would hurt less while running.

Vivi checked her watch. "It's over 5 minutes. Why hasn't it...?" Vivi poked her head out and checked the direction of th others. The blue light is still there. "Don't tell me it failed?"

Suddenly the blue light started to flicker. And not before long, it faded completely. "Heh. Great job." Vivi grinned. "Now, back to the fight."

Vivi picked herself up and took the laser gun. Sparrow was utterly confused but did so anyway.

"What's goin' on?" Sparrow asked, not knowing the situation.

Vivi sighed as she didn't like to do explanations, but she needed her help so she explained anyway. "Right, sparrow, listen. Even though your eyes have been blinded, I am in no better condition myself, so I require your help. Would you help me?"

Sparrow gave a positive confirmation.

"Thanks. You see, the enemy brought a new technology which we have never seen before and caught us in surprise. This technology inhibits our abilities and prevents us from using it." Vivi glanced at Sparrow to see that she understood. She made no response so Vivi continued. "So I let my partner go and find a way to shut it down, and it looks like it succeeded since the blue light it emitted is gone now."

Sparrow kept listening. "However, even so, my abilities have not returned. I am guessing that it requires some time before we recover them." Vivi continued. "Here and now, only you still have yours and even not, you're still a good fighter yourself, so your help would be appreciated."

Vivi paused for a moment before continuing. "But if you don't mind, I'd like to put first priority on getting my partner and Sakila out of there." Vivi stopped and waited for an answer.

"Oh, my. You shut down the generator." T looked at Vivi. "Impressive indeed. But the Armed Forces tend to be unreliable." He looked at the Armed Forces distastefully. That generator was a gift from my organization, by the way. It's an old generator, and we're well on our way to miniaturizing it. Oh, I say too much." He looked back at the battlefield. "Ah! Your friends, the battalion, are showing up. I guess I don't have much more business here." T stood up and began to walk away, then looked at Ash. "Hit by Blind Eye. That is unfortunate. You are far too interesting for me to leave this be." He held out his hand and the air began to smell of ozone. A bright light came from his hand and shot into Ash's eyes. "I believe that will neutralize the effects. I hope you show me more interesting battles to come. Please do not mind if I speak through you later. I would like to talk to Brent, but meeting him personally does not suit me."

He began to walk away, but Ash swung her scythe. But right before it made contact, a bright blue light came from T and when the light faded, the reaper was disfigured and on the ground. "Ah, interesting. I help you and you try to kill me. I will be going now." He walked away and was gone.

=========================================================================

("Please do not mind if I speak through you later." Interesting. And also, T's first appearance!

I'm trying to be a bit more active than I and the other mods have been in the past. Please bear with me if I come in and screw things up.)

Ash nodded. "O' course... An' just as a pr'caution, since the generator's off. Don' make eye contact wi' the gen'ral no matter what, 'kay? That's 'ow 'e temp'rarily messed up m' sight~" She smiled and patted Vivi lightly on the back, staring off into space. "But... I think ya should 'ead back up ta HQ and' get fixed up. If ya tell me the names o' those who need 'elp, I'll take care of it, but I don' wanna risk you bein' 'urt further. From th' sound, you 'ave multiple bullet wounds, still bleedin'... I 'ave a roll of bandages and some pain killers, but you're gonna need stitches. Will ya head back an' trust me on this?"

Edits: (Sorry Moho. I just didn't know how to add your piece in. >__< It doesn't really continue...)

====================

The mysterious man disappeared without a trace after saying his piece. Vivi and Sparrow were both stunned and didn't really know how to react. 'He's an ability user too?'

However, that was not the time to worry about that guy. Thinking about it, if he was enemy he wouldn't have healed Sparrow. But he was definitely not a friend either. This we can conclude. Going back to the topic, Sparrow added:

"... I think ya should 'ead back up ta HQ and' get fixed up...don' wanna risk you bein' 'urt further... have roll of bandages and some pain killers, but you're gonna need stitches. Will ya head back an' trust me on this?"

Vivi frowned. "Humph. Why are all you adults the same? I didn't join the rebellion to be doted upon... I'm always being sent to useless missions and they always hide important missions from me... Look, I'm not a child anymore. I want to fight as well."

Sparrow somehow understood what Vivi meant but she was still in a dilemma as to whether she should allow her to go or get her back for treatment.

"Also, I don't need any treatment. I don't really care about the wounds or scars or whatever. I probably have much more on me than you can count. And..." vivi lowered her head a little, "... My own partner is my own responsibility. Sakila is my friend. How can I let you take care of it all by yourself?" Vivi doesn't want to admit she was worried. But no matter what, she had to go and retrieve her bird back. It probably had used up all of it's power already and may be lying somewhere undetected. It wouldn't be nice if it was crushed or taken. She was worried about Sakila as well. Even though she can fight, she is too reckless sometimes and tries to save everyone whether or not she is capable of it. She needs to get there to get her out of all the troubles.

"Take me." vivi voice was unwavering, full of determination. "I can fight too."

Sparrow raised an eyebrow. "Hmmmm..."

Misaki was standing in front of the HQ when people began rushing out of the building. Finding it strange that people were leaving so quickly, she quickly grabbed ahold of one and asked, "Hey, where are you guys heading in such a rush?"

They informed her before pulling out of her grip and leaving, "We're heading towards one of the villages! The Armed Forces has it under attack and they need some backup!"

She watched the person run away before shouting out, "WHAT?! God dammit, I always miss the action!"

"What action," Sayuri asked as she walked back, her blonde hair gently swaying.

Misaki told her what the 8th Battalion member had told her. The response she got was not surprising. "For real?! Man, I can't believe the Armed Forces are doing such cruel things..."

She would have made a comment about how they have been for quite a while now, but knew it was a bit of a sticky topic to discuss with the woman. She really should stop believing that the Armed Forces might actually go back to the way it was when her grandfather was in it... But today's is not the day to crush grown women's dreams.

Suddenly, a tune began to play, alerting Misaki that Jackson was calling. "Sorry boss," she said as she answered her phone, "still working on getting that team."

"That's not your priority now. I need you to bring Brent and his team down to HQ since he's not answering his phone and you're nearby. We need to discuss what happened today in the field."

His tone, laced with worry and urgency, made her ask, "What happened sir? Did we have a lot of causalities?"

"No. Something that is a huge threat. I'll tell you at the emergency meeting. Anyway, hurry and get him!"

And with that, Jackson hung up, leaving her with questions only he could answer. Emergency meeting?! Man, what the hell happened out in the field to require an emergency meeting?!

She stuffed her phone back into her leather pouch as she hastily walked into the Battalion's HQ. Sayuri followed in a jog, asking, "Hey, what was that about? And what's with you? You looked... Kinda worried."

Misaki brushed it off before asking (though more like ordering, judging from her tone), "I need to get to Brent right away. Sayuri, could you do me a favor and get together whoever helps hold down the fort here and get them to meet us out front? I need them all to get down to the Rebellion's HQ.I would, but things have probably changed since I've been here and anyway, it's easier to get everyone rounded up if two people are doing it."

The woman paused for a second before giving her a nod and heading off into a different direction. Once she saw that Sayuri was doing as she asked, she made a beeline for the 8th Battalion's leader's office because knowing Brent, he was probably thinking of a new way to help the people in his office with his phone on vibrate. I hope it's still where it was when I left two years ago.

Thankfully, he didn't move offices so she managed to get there pretty quickly. She slammed her hand against the door a few times before entering. She normally would have waited, but the urgency that was in Jackson's voice gave her the feeling that it needed to be discussed ASAP.

The office of the Battalion's leader was just like she remembered it when she had entered last time (to turn in her resignation). The room was covered in papers and goods and sticky notes and in the middle of it all was Brent, hunched slightly over his desk looking at a map. He looked up at her, surprised to be seeing her in his office before saying, "Misaki! What a surprise, I wasn't expecting you. Do you need anything?"

Misaki replied, "Well, more like what Jackson needs. He wants you and whoever helps you with the Battalion stuff to come down to our HQ now for an emergency meeting. Apparently something really bad happened and he needs to see you."

"How bad?"

"Like, really bad and threatens our goals to overthrow the Armed Forces bad."

He frowned as he responded, "My men and I will be there shortly after I round them up."

"No need; I already got Sayuri doing that for you. They should be waiting out front."

Brent threw her a "thanks", but seemed far more occupied in what the new, terrible threat was and getting to the Rebellion's HQ. It was no surprise, since it the Armed Forces had something that could ruin their goals, it would make it so much harder for them to stop their tyranny. Misaki followed Brent as fast as she could, the sounds of their frantic footsteps echoing off the hallway walls. It only took them a few minutes to get outside, where a van with some of Brent's men were waiting.

As soon as she saw them, Sayuri poked her head out of the driver side window and yelled, "Hop in! Next stop, Nubinelle Rebellion Headquarters!"

(Lol I'm going to ignore whatever response you'll be giving, Ash~ :P)

----------------------

Vivi slid down the railing on her roller plates now out of power, and with Sparrow running beside her, they headed back to the battle spot through another route.

"I should have brought the charger for this..." grunted Vivi as she jumped down from the railing at the end of the stairs.

"Yer sure yer alr'ght do'n stuff 'ike this when 'er wounded?" asked sparrow looking concerned.

"Huh? These are wounds?!" Vivi shrugged and did an air flip, but winced when she landed. "Per-perfectly... Alrightttt. Se-see...!"

Sparrow didn't know whether she should tear down her act or try to continue asking further. With Vivi's character, she might try jumping out of he window next if she asked any more.

Not before long, she returned back to the spot. The entire place was in chaos and full of destruction. However, the battle location seemed to have shifted. The trails lead to the East. There were gunshots over the direction as well. Vivi scanned the surroundings closely as if she was trying to find something. She slowly approached the generator and scanned its exterior. On the bottom of the generator she spotted a small hole.

Perfect.

Vivi bent down and peeped through the hole. She couldn't see anything. She looked around and picked up a smaller laser gun and aimed at the generator.

*Zapppp!* *Psssst*

She cut the plate off the generator, and inside, a little mech bird laid there, motionless, beside a destroyed pice of wire and electronic plate. Vivi picked the little bird up and kept it in her hood. She then inspected the pieces in the generator and found the main box where the beam shot out from. The rest seemed to be just amplifiers and power generators. She carefully pulled out the box and kept it in her jacket.

(Just a note, it seems like you kinda ignored my little piece up there. :( )

-- sorry... I was writing a response to Detsu-chan at the same time you were and didn't see it. ^^" Then I had to log off an' go ta bed.

Ash watched Vivi fiddle with the generator. Gripping her left arm she knelt to look in the panel. "Vi, d'you 'ave any idea what that guy was?" After that light, everything ached. He was an enemy... but why would he reverse blind-eye...? At least he didn't touch Vivi or the others. She reached out and touched one of the wires, teying to feel what kind of energy had flowed through. This is very strange as well...

(time for school, then helping at the play... back in about 14 hours, but it's friday, so I can post later as well.)

"No idea..." replied Vivi. "He isn't in the battalion nor the armed forces. I reckon he is the guy who provided them with the generator?"

"...Huh? wait... How do you know he isn't with the armed forces?" Sparrow questioned, getting a little suspicious.

"Hmmm? I just know..." Vivi shrugged. "He smells different."

"...Smells?"

"Yea." Vivi was lazy to explain that she had once been with the armed forces. It wasn't a very pleasant experience, and it wasn't anything she'd like to remember. Also, everyone knows Sparrow hates people from the armed forces. She wouldn't want to know what would happen if she knew she had once been with the armed forces. Everyone in the rebellion knew she was with the 8th Battalion before she transferred to the rebellion. But none in the normal ranks knew that before she joined the Battalion she had been in the armed forces.

She remembered the times that she had participated in some of the armed forces raids and aided in the destruction of the villages. Even though it wasn't what she desired, it is a fact that she had committed them and, that, isn't easily forgiveable by many, especially those who hates the armed forces. Also, the series of events that lead to her leaving the armed forces and joining 8th Battalion was such a horrifying experience she will never want to experience or remember again.

Vivi shrugged and tied the bandange on her thigh a little tighter as the blood was starting to flow out. "We're done here. Let's go."

Sparrow was still pretty suspicious but she let her go for now due to the emergency situation.

"That was your partner?" Sparrow asked.

"..." Vivi gave a confirmation stare before she zoomed off towards the east. 'We're coming now, Sakila... Wait for me.'
