DCW IRL Round 7: Weasel and Bunny

[Sakila 88]

"Highly functioning, my foot." Sakila pouted and floated upside down, he legs folded crisscrossed-applesauce style.

 

"You never cared about me that way!" She sniffed.

 

Wait, sniffed?

 

Sakila did not sniff.

 

Maybe dying had made her more emotional. Oh, well. She turned right side up and did a twirl above Misaki's head. "I'm a little hunter, skinny and tall. I killed an ally and left her in the hall. When I get insulted, my calmness falls. I'll beat you up and leave you cold!"

 

Death is so boring, she thought. Avenge me already! Aaaaaaveeeeenge meeeeeee! Let me go to heav--oh. yeah right. An entire lifetime of being a bad person. Um... carry on, everyone.

 

...Yeesh. This was the worst.

 

Sakila floated off to the library next.

[Henry Gordan 20]

"So what do we do in here?" Aleksander asked in the lab.

 

"Well, we will try to use this and... yeah." Raulen answered.

 

They got both girls with them even thought they were allowed to use only one.

Suddenly another one, the one with reddish brown hair tried to run away.

 

"GET HER! I'LL TAKE CARE OF THIS ONE." Raulen shouted to him as he shot rapid fire to the wall that behind the runner had to be.

Aleksander heard thump and scream. He walked around the corner to see the girl lying on her back. There were three bullet hole in her stomach.

Blood was everywhere

 

"I guess you are in pain. Do you want it to stop or do you want to have time to think about your life?" Aleksander asked from her with kindly voice.

 

"Give me one minute. And stop it then." she said.

 

After one minute silence, not actually silence because she was muttering to herself. 

"I'm ready." She said and closed her eyes.

Black hole appeared to her forehead as Aleksander pulled the trigger.

 

He went back to Raulen who was aiming the another girl.'

 

"She is now dead. We have to use her." Aleksander said while keeping his hand on the trigger.

"And I'll not kill you as cleanly as I killed her. Now you go to stand there as Raulen uses the thing."

 

Raulen set her to appear to the door so they could take care of her after that.

 

Raulen pressed the button and the girl disappeared. Then they heard Misaki's voice at the door.

Alright last day to post~ people~ my last post here before I end everything.)

The brown haired girl was shot down.

"Alright. Looks like we only got you left my dear..." Laurence smiled to the marker.

He shoved her inside a standing capsule with red light. He then pressed a switch and suddenly the room seemed to twirl and the red light grew stronger, making the girl look like she disappeared.

"Distort signal maximum. Synchronization rate maximum. Good. Now we can tune in to the next step." He stepped over to a larger container which the capsule is linked to. Above it labelled 'TRANSCENDER'. "Preparing transfer..." He keyed in a few buttons.

The ground shook and then a portal like beam emerges from the centre ring in the container, gleaming with blue light.

"Success." Smiled Laurence.

"Now for the Finale." Laurence stepped over to a small door and turned the knob. Juliet stepped out from within.

"My lady. Everything went according to plan." He bowed.

"All thanks to you Laurence." She smiled back. The other two in the room had faces full of confusion.

"Both of you must be awfully confused now. So I shall explain." Laurence shrugged. "This was our plan all along! To eliminate all the prey to create the maximum distortion. And making use of our marker to create the highest synchronization rate! Keeping you guys alive was so that we can pull an act with Romeo since he found out about the plan! Well... Too bad for you~ Our ultimate plan is only to send my lady back to where she came from! If you didn't know, our lady was the first ever person to reach this world through a freak experiment accident. Won't explain how she got to this position but it wasn't easy. Finally we got here."

"Now that you know why we require you, we don't owe you anything now. As such, we're leaving you now~ thank you so much for your help my dear~ you can keep the earrings. They look perfect on you." Juliet smiled and vanished into the portal.

"Shouldn't keep my lady waiting." Laurence shrugged. "Looks like my fate with this world has ended... I wonder how my lady's world looks like?" He let out a soft laugh and turned back to the marker.

"Well then~ I'll give you a little advice. Once you leave the capsule, the distortion will start to go unstable and the hole in the worlds will increase. The synchronization rate will start to decrease. However, you still can pass through the portal within ten minutes. Any later, there will be no guarantee where you will end up in. You might even get stuck within the distortion void space forever. That's all the advice I can give. My lady's waiting for me~ see ya back in your world~!" Laurence walked into the portal and vanished.

When Misaki entered, the first thing she heard was gunshots. She quickly held up her Glock, still in her hand, as she looked around, making sure no one else with a gun was nearby. After silence, her body began to relax when she heard another shot. This time, she followed it to the source. As she peered from the corner, she saw one of the prey, dead. Blood crept from her body, two separate pools slowly merging into one. Gunshot wounds were present, one in her head and three to the stomach. For someone who had gotten shot, she looked... Peaceful. 

 

Standing by her was the idiot, gun in hand. She quietly followed, watching as the scene unfolded. "She is now dead," he said. "We have to use her."

 

He pointed his gun at the Marker as he continued, "And I'll not kill you as cleanly as I killed her. Now you go to stand there as Raulen uses the thing."

 

"Alright. Looks like we only got you left my dear..." Laurence smiled.

 

He shoved her inside a standing capsule with red light, a squeak escaping from the Marker's mouth. Afterwards, he pressed a switch. The red glow grew stronger, temporarily blinding her. She closed her eyes to block out the light, and when she opened them, it appeared she was gone. A closer look and she realized that the Marker was still there, just obscured by the light. 

"Distort signal maximum. Synchronization rate maximum. Good. Now we can tune in to the next step." He stepped over to a larger container which the capsule is linked to. Above it labelled 'TRANSCENDER'. "Preparing transfer..." He keyed in a few buttons.

 

The ground shook, causing her to brace herself so she wouldn't fall. Out of nowhere, a portal-like beam emerges from the centre ring in the container, gleaming with blue light.

 

"Success," he smiled. "Now for the Finale."

 

Laurence stepped over to a small door before turning the knob. From it stepped a woman, her brunette hair gently bouncing as she exited.

"My lady. Everything went according to plan," he bowed.

"All thanks to you Laurence," she replied as she smiled back. A look of ranging confusion covered the members of the room.

With a wave and a grin, he disappeared from sight. Everyone stood in silence. By now, she had stepped out from her hiding spot, silently rejoining the group. Misaki watched as the Marker began to get ready to leave this world, saying goodbye to everyone (save the idiot). After a few minutes, she stepped into the portal and was gone.

 

Once she was gone, only she, TJ and Tony were left, since the idiot had left them. After a few seconds of silence, TJ asked, "So... What now?"
 

"We leave," she stated. "No point staying."

 

They began to exit when Tony muttered, most likely meant to be a thought but didn't realize it was being said. Sadness and anger could be heard in his voice. "I can't believe she's dead..."

"I didn't realize that you became found of her so quickly," she replied without missing a beat, knowing who he was talking about.

 

Her cousin colored at the realization that he had been heard. TJ added, "At least she doesn't have to live being hunted. She's in a better place."

 

"A better place than her home?!"

 

Gently, she placed a hand on his shoulder and gave it a squeeze. "Calm down Tony. There's no point being angry about what has already happened."

"Well you know what," he exclaimed as he tore himself from her grip and shoved her away. She stumbled back, for once being caught off guard as TJ caught her. "I am! Because unlike you, I feel human emotions! I'm not a cyborg like you!"

 

Misaki froze, her mask falling just a bit as shock covered her face. He had never said anything like that to her before. Quite the opposite actually. As they grew up, she would constantly hear praise from the mouth of her cousin. The hand TJ had on her hand tightened just a bit as she saw the realization and regret overwhelm his face. He attempted to get the right words to apologize, stuttering,  "O-oh... God, Cuz, you know that- Damnit, I'm so sorry..."

 

"Don't apologize," she said as her mask slipped back into place, replacing the shock with an impassive look as she began to step out of TJ's hold. He loosened his grip on her, obviously not realizing he had tightened it in the first place. "You merely spoke your opinion."

"But-"

 

"Not one more word."

She looked at him, tacitly telling him not to. He got the cue and stopped talking. "Let's go. We need to get Sakila's body before we leave."

 

Shock painted across the others' faces as one of them asked, "But why?"

"To bury her. Since you've seem to have become fond of her, it only seems to be the right thing to do."

 

Truth be told, she didn't care what happened to the body. To her, it didn't really mean anything. But it meant something to Tony, and that's what mattered. It would give him closure and it would help him let go faster. 

 

Her cousin seemed to light up at the idea, as if he was a lightbulb turning on. "Great idea Cuz!"

TJ nodded in agreement, also seeming pleased with the suggestion. "One of the best you've had girl."
 

She smiled at them, though it was one that could have easily been missed for how slight it was. But they noticed. They always seemed to notice the small things that most would miss. But not them. Never them. 

 

They beamed grins back to her as they made their way the long hallway, the heels of their shoes the only sound heard. At the end stood a door, one she hadn't studied closely before but now could. The design was similar to the one she had gone through only days before, when she had been called for the Hunt. Funny how time seems to fly when so much happens.

 

And with a creak, she pushed the door open, revealing the rising sun and the fresh, cool air.

Aleksander founded himself at the entrance off Monte Carlo Casino. He was tired. The amphetamine had done it. He passed out.

"It's finally over. I'm sorry mi love"

 

25 of August. Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

 

Third light. Fourth light. Fifth light. No lights

 

"PUSH PUSH PUSH"

Aleksander let the clutch go and pressed the gas. 

"Next gear. Turn. Watch your mirrors."

 

He hadn't made good lap yesterday and was forced to start from middle of the grid.

As the started to accelerate to Eau Rouge. He got good speed. But the guy in front of him didn't.

 

"I can do it. I can over take him."

 

He took the inner side of the turn. Crash. Flying. Tire barrier. Pain.

"Damm that idiot. He pushed me out."

 

Paramedics arrived. Took his helmet off. Pole from the another car suspension was sticking out from his chest.

"I'm sorry mi love." he said and gave out his last gasp.

It probably wouldn't work. It probably wouldn't work at all. It'd probably just make the entire transcender thing blow up. Malfunction. She didn't know. She didn't care. She needed to try. She honestly needed to try. She would die again just to try.

Sakila went over to the transcender and stared at it for a good, full minute before reaching out her her hand toward it...

"I can't believe she's dead."

Wh-what? Wait, that probably was not who she thought it was.

"I didn't realize that you became fond of her so quickly."

It was, wasn't it?

"At least she doesn't have to live being hunted. She's in a better place."

Yes, yes. If by 'better place' you mean poking your forehead. Poke. Poke. Pokity-poke-poke.

"A better place than her home?!"

Yeah! What that guy said! Did they know how long it'd been since she'd used her deodorant? You do not separate a girl from her deodorant. And home definitely meant deodorant. And tacos. She liked tacos.

Misaki walked over and placed a hand on Tony's shoulder.

She'd never placed a hand in Sakila's shoulder. Oh maybe except that one time when she being killed.

"Calm down Tony. There's no point being angry about what has already happened."

And she'd thought he was unworthy of a nickname! Well no longer! Now he'd earned the nickname of... Hm... Nicknames were hard to give when you were obliged to give them.

"Well you know what?! I am! Because unlike you, I feel human emotions! I'm not a cyborg like you!"

Oh, no he didn't.

"O-oh... God, Cuz, you know that- Damnit, I'm so sorry..."

Girl, he practically domestically abused you. Are you gonna stand there and take it? Sakila munched on imaginary popcorn and stared at the TV—er, Mirdorians.

"Don't apologize. You merely spoke your opinion."

Oh. So it wasn't going to turn into a big fight. Yawn. It's no good if there's no hair pulling.

Sakila ignored them and walked over to the transcender thingy again.

"...bury her...since you...fond of...great idea...girl..."

Bits and pieces of their conversation drifted over to her as they walked back.

Now.

Sakila jumped into the transcender and it flashed, like it had when the lady had gone through. Inside it was blinding and painful.

Was she even suppose to feel pain anymore? Wasn't she dead?

Wasn't she?

"Where'd the body go?!"

The voice was distant and empty, like air blowing through a tube. Then everything turned black.

...

"Oooooooooowwww. It hurts so muuuu—wait, what? It hurts. It hurts. Holy mother of roses, it hurts!"

Sakila forced her eyes open to find a blue sky. Fluffy white clouds floated by. "Is this heaven? I swear, if I am on the ghost version of Punk'd right now," she said. She turned her head to see a shiny liquid covering her entire black shirt. Her arm hurt to. She craned her neck to see blood coming out.

"Oh, it's just blood."

.

"It's blood!"

She gave a shout before coughing heavily. "Blood! A body! Pain!"

Struggling to sit up, she realized where she was. The county fair field. Where she and her coworker had set up their fortune-telling tent. The last thing she could remember before waking up in that white room.

It was deserted now and she wondered how much time had passed since she'd been gone. She'd only been gone for a few days, right?

Sakila stood up, holding her wound with her unhurt hand.

It looked weird. There was something about the trees. Something about the grass. Something about the atmosphere. She started walking down the main highway that led to the city.

It was hard work. The arm and chest were still bleeding, although much less than before. And her entire body was fatigued.

A car made it's way down the road and Sakila waved at it to stop. It came to a halt next to her and a familiar looking young man in his 20s got out of the front seat. "S-Sakila? It can't be, can it?"

"Can you please drive me back to town? I really need a doctor." Her chest felt worse.

"It is you! How is this possible?! How are you here?!"

"I'm sorry, but who are you again?"

"What? How do you not know me? It's me, Aaron, who else?"

"Aaron? No way... I only know one Aaron and he doesn't look like you. Although, I admit you do look similar to him."

"I am him! Sakila, something's majorly wrong with you! Let's get you to the hospital ASAP to the max!" He guided her to the car and helped her into the passenger seat.

"You are Aaron... Aren't you? Only you would use the words 'ASAP to the max' in an emergency. But... Why do you look so different?"

"Why wouldn't I look different?! We haven't seen each other since the county fair!"

The car sped off into town. Aaron drove frantically, probably growing more and more worried as blood seeped out.

"Yeah, and that was less than a week ago."

"Sakila...what are you talking about?" He looked over at her for a second, confused, before continuing. "The county fair was 10 years ago. There's been no trace of you for the last 10 years."

Maybe it was relief from being alive again. Maybe it was relief from seeing her best friend again. Maybe it was relief from seeing the great white face of the hospital again. Or maybe it was the shock of having been transported out of her world, killed by an ally, and somehow returning 10 years later that knocked Sakila out.

All she knew was that there were too many questions that she would never have any answers to.

(Cough cough. So maybe it's like, "you can't be killed in a parallel world kinda thing. And my character did have stronger-than-usual ties with the supernatural! And the space-time thingy was distorted. why can't 10 years pass here when it's only been three days in Mirdora? Makes you think, eh? Anyhoo ta-da! Last post! Again, so much fun RPing! Hope we all can do it again. No hard feelings!)

Kai blinked. It was a bit hard to take it all in. First Kuro-chan dying. She would never be able to forget that. Then Autumn. She had screamed for them to stop, but it was useless. She tried. But she couldn't  do a single thing.

 

As she got ready to leave, she felt a pang of sadness. 

 

Rest in peace, Kuro-chan. I'll see you in heaven someday, eh? You too, Autumn. I hope you guys got back into your world. It would suck if you really died. But I'm sure you didn't. I don't believe it. You guys have got to be alive and back. Maybe I'll even see you guys, when I get back. Who knows? The world is a crazy place, after all.

 

She sighed. She scanned the room. I'm guess...I'm gonna miss these people too...even if some of them did try to kill me...She chuckled inside and said goodbye to everybody.

 

"Bye, Misaki," She said to the 'hunter'. "I won't forgive you." She gave her a look.

 

"Bye Tony, bye TJ," She gave them each a 'props'. "You guys did well. I wish we had guys like you in our world. She cracked a small smile.

 

She then looked at the other hunter. She nodded to him and walked up to the portal.

 

Just in front of the portal, she looked back at Misaki. She sighed again. Should I...? Or should I not? She couldn't not. So she walked back up to her. And looked at her for a good while.

 

"I'm not saying I'll forgive you, but...friends?" She held out her hand and smiled. I know, I know, I'm probably stupid, but...I just can't not! It won't be me. I don't like being anyone's enemy. It's the end anyways, so...why not? Misaki looked a bit confused, but after a pause, shook her hand.

 

Smiling inside, Kai walked confidently to the portal.

 

"Here goes..." She took a deep breath and stepped inside. Inside, she felt a cool current of air from the bottom. Outside, the faces she had known for the past few days started fading. She waved to them, and they waved back.

 

Goodbye...

 

All went white.

"HAHAHAAA!!!" A laugh escaped from someone really close by. A series of laughter followed.

 

Kai rubbed her eyes. She put her hand over her nose without even knowing why. "Ouch!"

 

A girl with short cropped hair was laughing her arm off. She looked...a bit blurry. "That...was....hilarious!"

 

"What happened?" Kai asked, feeling very very confused. She looked around, but everything was a blur. She then realized she didn't have her glasses. She looked on the ground. 'Ah.' Her glasses was a few feet away, and a few more from a soccer ball.

 

She picked them up and put them back on her head. She still felt a bit dizzy.

 

"What happened?" She asked again.

 

"Dude, you totally got pwned!! I don't even know how it happened! Aw man, you should've seen it! The ball went like 'pewwww', right on your nose! It was soo funny! You didn't even try to like, duck it or anything! Straight on, man! Haha, you're lucky your glasses didn't crack! Kai, girl, why didn't you head it? You were like riiight in front of the net! Ah well, are you okay?" The girl held out her hand.

 

"Wh...Where am I?"

 

The girl looked at her funnily. "Uhmm, are you sure you're okay, dude?" A couple people laughed. "Earth to Kaiii? You're on the soccer field? At...school? Hellooooo~~~"

 

Kai blinked. "Really?" She slowly smiled, then full-on grinned. "I'm...home?"

 

"Uh....Home?" The girl echoed. "What are you talking about? This is soccer practice?" She waved her hand over my face. "Do you need to go to the office? Like, ice, maybe?"
 

"Ah, no no, it's all good," Kai smiled. She completely forgot about her nose now. A surge of excitement went through her. I'm back...! I'm really back...!!!

 

She bounced up and down for a second. The grass under her feet had never felt so good. The wind on her braids, the sun on her white-and-red uniform, the cheers of her teammates when she got up.

 

Kai smiled. She kicked the ball and it soared into the air.

 

"Let's play!"

<ALRIGHT NOW TO ANOTHER IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT>

Uhhhhh.... Let me blabber about some stuff first if you don't mind. PLEASE READ THOUGH.

 

This was a difficult round (*for me* even if you haven't realized) because members are always so busy (me included) and the starting was reallllllly slow and I have some trouble keeping the round fresh and moving. Don't misunderstand. I am not blaming anyone here. I myself was busy and I understand, so I am really grateful for those who helped to keep the story going. The story did pick up its pace at the last few weeks of the RP because our members had found more time so it successfully reached its ending and I thank all of you for this. I especially want to thank the members who helped to keep it moving for the entirety of the RP, and so I am going to give out an MVRP for this round!!!!!!

 

Alright. I have a few people helping out, BUT since I can only give to ONE, I'm sure all of you will agree that the MVRP should go to:
