ALAKTORN 170 Report post Posted April 21, 2014 893 out in Japanese. Chekhov’s explanation of handedness was a bit off. I’m always interested in this kind of thing because I keep hearing differing opinions by same-handed people on how they draw circles. Point #1: Since the pen’s line is smaller at the center, it means that they were drawn starting from the outside. Point #2: The spiral at the top is the left-handed one, and it’s drawn starting from the outside. So that contradicts what Chekov thought a spiral would look like when drawn by either hand. I still think moving towards the outside of the body at the start is the most natural (it’s what I, my mom, and apparently Aoyama do), but other friends of mine and apparently Chekov do otherwise. Basically, I’m not sure how much this whole explanation holds up as proof of handedness either way, lol.
