Kirsch 95 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 you should try watching it and suffer like the rest of us all movie is subjective but 14...what a let down I wasn't there for the hype (haha, I think I had just graduated from the toddler ages). However, I will refrain from rewatching it with Kid-bias removed. What a horrid experience it would turn out to be.This trailer does nothing to explain why Kid was hanging off a cliff with an absolutely evil smile in the last trailer. What a horrid experience it would turn out to be. This trailer does nothing to explain why Kid was hanging off a cliff with an absolutely evil smile in the last trailer. There are a ton of scenes in trailers that never make the final cut. That OOC scene will most likely be one of them.

I know there's more about his act there. Guess we would just have to wait on this movie to be released and hope not to be disappointed. But then, we do not get what we want all the time. *sigh*
Moonlit Flower 12 Report post Posted March 22, 2015 Might be a little too late to say this but I find the song fits the theme of this movie. It sounds mystical (and cool). Well, I only think of : Mystic = Fire + Flowers. I was thinking the same thing. The song fits perfectly for the movie. This song reminds me of a cover song I listened to before called First Love (Hatsukoi). Oh! Rival, has a good beat, and catchy lyrics. I can't wait for its release. Btw, I did some searching around Porno Graffitti today, and I came across the Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno album cover for Oh! Rival:
Akazora 293 Report post Posted March 30, 2015 The guest seiyuu for this movie is confirmed to be Kang Ji-young, former member of the K-pop group KARA and huge fan of Detetive Conan. She will be voice acting an art museum guide. While Korean, she is capable of speaking Japanese as demonstrated in her single Wanna Do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvEyyhcIxU4 Source to the news here. I'm not that into the K-pop scene, but I am familiar with KARA and am a bit of a fan of theirs. Pandora specifically is a catchy tune. It's nice to see Ji-young involved with DC, though having all of KARA or at least her perform this movie's theme song would have created even larger tsunami waves given how popular they are in Japan. Porno Graffitti is famous enough, so I'm not really complaining.

Cruel? :3 Bless you for saying this, thought I was going to have to double post. New characters introduced! Feeling lazy, so I'm not going to transcribe everything down here, but seven characters have be revealed. Looks like these might be our biggest suspects in whatever crime goes down this movie. Here's the news sauce 'cause I know y'all want it.

Akazora 293 Report post Posted April 14, 2015 guys i am new to detective conan world this is my first reply i wanted to ask all of you about the movie 19 when it is going to come out in english and japense and if it is going out in japense when is going to be released in youtube and thank you very much Watch your double posts, though since you're new I guess there's no helping it. It's out in Japanese theaters in a few days, April 18th, but won't be available for Blu-ray or DVD purchase until October. Perhaps there will be cam-rips uploaded online somewhere, be they on YouTube or a Chinese site, but I wouldn't recommend those. DC movies are never "released" in English officially, since Crunchyroll only has translation rights to the television series I believe, but you'd definitely get fansubs one way or another some time after the DVD/BRD release in October. sorry before i go i wanted to ask you also about the trallier for movie 20 when does it also come out and thank you The first teaser for movie 20 will be shown at the end of movie 19 in theaters, so in a few days we'll probably get a rumor/speculation thread going. The teasers show very little, or sometimes too much in the case of movie 19, since the general premise was readily deduced months in advance. You won't be getting a title or promo posters or even footage until around December. However, movie 20 is already confirmed to be a Black Org movie involving Gin and Amuro. That was revealed in an interview(?) not too long ago, so there's that to look forward to.

The wait for DC movies can feel pretty long at first, but you learn to get used to it. I'm not the biggest fan of anything Kaitou Kid, so I'm not all that stoked about movie 19, but I know the wait for movie 20 is going to slay me.

Akazora 293 Report post Posted September 30, 2015 Wow, look at this dusty old thread. Well, the Japanese dubbed Korean version of the movie decently fansubbed in English is uploaded somewhere online and I decided to spend my Tuesday watching it because I wanted to treat myself after nearly pulling off a second all nighter in a single week last night. This movie was pretty bad. The animation was poor save for a few minutes of decently done sakuga in the beginning and scattered throughout. The music was underwhelming, the voice acting for a specific movie-only character was really bad, and the mystery was terrible. It's pretty much what you'd expect from a DC movie at this point though: too many suspects that are never fleshed out, a couple of obvious red herrings, some "tragic" backstory with flashbacks for the sake of conveniently giving the DCW wiki a full set of pictures on the movie page, the whole nine yards. The ending was pretty much every ending of every DC movie ever crammed into one, made worse by some derpy looking faces and body proportions. Oh dear, and this is the highest grossing DC movie to date? At least it leaves them more money for movie 20! That non-canon Black Organization fustercluck better be animated gloriously, else I'm gonna ship my flit.
Heliotropic 139 Report post Posted September 30, 2015 It was definitely pretty typical for a Detective Conan movie... with no shortage of over the top scenes. That being said, I thought it was better than some of the previous "Kid" movies, and I thought it had great pacing, which made it quite enjoyable for me. It was "decent" though, not great, not terrible, just decent. The trailer also hyped people up for things that weren't there in the first place (not really a big surprise, but is always a bit disappointing). I'll agree with you on the OST and the movie only character. I did actually like the animation though (it's not like the people responsible for animating Scarlet or the Shiragami case were involved ) I never expect too much from DC movies these days. They are more or less action movies and the mystery aspect is never particularly strong so I naturally lower my expectations every single time I go to watch them I'm really looking forward to Movie 20 though. Trailer should be out in a couple months I think.

You know after M17 i was kinda thinking that the movies were taking a turn for the better then 18 came out and now your guys thought on 19...gonnaaaa be a loooong movie that one if i were ranking the movies with kid in them then 3 (10) 10 (8) 8 (2) 14 (2)
Heliotropic 139 Report post Posted September 30, 2015 if i were ranking the movies with kid in them then 3 (10) 10 (8) 8 (2) 14 (2) Movie 3 is excellent, and one of my overall favorites. Not really a fan of the others, but I think I'd agree with your ranking. I'd place M19 over 14 and 8 (with 8 being much better than 14, but that's not saying much, is it?). I don't have a strong opinion on M10 though. I might change my opinion on 19 after I see it a few more times, as I'm planning on watching the official release and when M-L puts it out as well. For now, if we're putting it on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best, I'd give it a 5. The movie is something that'll resonate a lot more with fans of Kaito Kid. If people enjoyed the previous few Kid movies, they should definitely like this one. I don't really care for Kid in DC. I like him in his own series but my exact feelings towards him in the movies and in canon are of apathy.

Interesting that you gave it a 5, giving how you critique it I will watch MLs or suiri or anyone else's, depending on what comes out first i just want to get it over with M11 and 16 are absolutely unwatchable for me the second time I always thought kid was a good side attraction but not a good main attraction you must be mentally strong if you are going to watch a bad dc movie more than once one question, DBs...are the the the usual bro, M3 will be rewatched soon thanks

I think it certainly qualifies as average. Of course I'm not saying that it's even the 9th best movie of the bunch. Most of the recent movies are on a similar scale for me. Many of them are just average. The Detective Boys don't really have a strong presence in Movie 19 at all. They are mostly just there. Nothing significant that I really remember anyways... I'm really apathetic towards Kid's appearances (but I definitely don't hate him). Kid cases are usually the ones I gloss over the most, but I do like a good portion of the early cases. Movie 3 is just beautifully done. The soundtrack is amazing too, and it's always a nice treat watching that movie. The first 6 have a ton of replay value for me. MadelineLime 45 Report post Posted October 1, 2015 I wish you would give a logical reason to all this Kid hate you have, Balthazar. The only logical argument against Kid I've ever heard was from Kyuu telling me he just didn't like how the focus took away from Black Org plot... (which given how little plot we have isn't entirely true, just more AO) As a former magicians assistant I know I'm a bit biased but come on. If you don't like it, why do you feel the need to constantly rain on the parade of those that do? It's nice to finally have someone show up in DC non canon who isn't taken in by stupid half truths told by Conan/Shinichi. The only bad parts of the movie are that really stupid motive of the actual thief, and the confusing and over the top collapsing building.
Balthazar Manfredie 226 Report post Posted October 1, 2015 I have writen a lot of reason all around dcw Im not gonna write that long reason again, if you want to know you can search. To tell the somewhat short version, he was great in the beginning, then sucked after jirokichi came I also have kid vs conan in my top 10 episodes of dc of all time...and thats after all these years. I do like Magic Kaito, the anime. I didnt watch the movie so im asking around whats it like and is it what i expected it to be Also i do like kyuus posts and do agree with almost all of them But the reason that he(KID) takes away the focus of the plot is strange to me cause heiji and the DBs and ran and mori side cases get more page/screen time than him
Serinox 127 Report post Posted October 1, 2015 It was alright in my opinion. Better than M17, M16 and M14, but worse than M18 and M15. Even though I got tired of the Kidichi shtick in M8 already...
