LucasIchiro 2 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Hey! This place looks cool! The wiki is super helpful! Here's a psychedelic journey, enjoy! One day, a boy thought up a fun game. First he would create an account on his favourite manga book's fan site. He would create multiple accounts and each one of them had their own interests. One hung out in spam and another worked on the wiki. He got to the point where if he just made an account where he does both, he would be well known across the board. Determined, he made more accounts, started learning Japanese so he could help translate new episodes, he read a book on how to use a video editor and spent his whole career finding the perfect font to put over the art style that is explicit to Gosho Aoyama, he studied art history and compared famous painters like Caravaggio and Munch to Gosho himself. He would become the hero of the Detective Conan fans, at least those that speak English! "I guess the kid just wants to be a moderator." The cold gaze of Gin and Vodka stabs right through him. The boy utters from his lips, "No, I. . ." His mind was nebulous and without a clue to begin defending himself from the accusation. He was still a kid, he didn't want to be a moderator, not yet! He snapped back to reality at the registration screen. (He has ADD) Join Our Community Nervously, he eased out of his chair. He went for a walk and thought things over. He came home with the decision that he would read all the manga he had first before he made an account. Once it was done, he had to make the decision. Would he create an account or leave this journey to the side? He decided he wouldn't make an account, but he compensated for it with this promise: he will dedicate his time to learning so that he could begin as soon as possible. This boy wasn't six or seven, unfortunately. He was only twelve. In school he focused on learning; anything they gave him was good enough to spend his time on. All of it heading towards a singular goal. Using mathematics he found the average probability a crime would occur on the show, as well as how long on average it takes for Conan to solve a case (in the anime). With literature, he began writing down the scenes and actions of the characters and created a novel version of the manga. With physics, he tested the maneuvers used in the series and re-created them in real life and they all worked just like in the show. Like that one in Magic Lover's Murder Case? It works. He thought about joining the soccer team but he didn't want to BE Conan. It was just weird that he even had that experience, but hey he's probably not alone. He found Japanese movies that took place in the late 80's in order to get an authentic feel for the time period. He even tried scouring the internet for news broadcasts from the late 80's in Japan-- he came to the realization, he wanted to learn it. The problem, he came to realize, was the kind of person he was developing into in real life. "Not everything is about Conan." It was only said once, but that was enough. Has he gone too far? He went for a walk, came back, read the first manga he's ever held. He knew exactly what happened in the next one. The problem was, if he told his parents he wanted to learn Japanese, they would see he'd be learning it for all the wrong reasons. You don't learn a language because you want to translate an anime, you learn it to interact with other people. There was a solution to this. One truth prevails! Perhaps he would learn it and start hanging out on a Japanese Detective Conan forum. Would it really be worth it? He could ask a bilingual member on the forum, but that would come off as sort of intrusive. Then he thought, he could watch the Japanese version of the show without the subtitles! What a marvelous world would it be to watch subs like dubs! This wasn't enough reason to go to his parents and tell them that this is his ambition. He came to the conclusion that he would try to learn Japanese in secret, using the internet and books from the library. It was a complete failure. He worked for three months at a steady pace and in the end he found himself nowhere. Putting himself on overdrive, he stopped all his normal activities concerning Conan and began working on Japanese in class. He dug himself into a ostentatious depression, his life was a failure. With his head on the desk, a girl said "Is that Chinese?" "No! It's Japanese, gosh tell the difference." He woke up with cold sweat from the terrible nightmare. He needed to stop trying to learn Japanese, this was ridiculous. Once morning came, he resumed his activities. Trying to learn Japanese scarred him. He felt much weaker in mind. Through time he got weaker, all his aspirations and all his dreams began to crumble. He hasn't even made his account yet. He was having a hard enough time getting through his daily routine. He gave up on Conan, let his manga collect dust. For years he went without the show. He started doing drugs, listened to hip-hop music, had a bad boy mentality. Smoking marijuana reminded him of that scene where Richard asked Harley, "What are you smoking?" He no longer believed in the law. He never forgot Detective Conan, but he used it to his advantage in his criminal endeavors. His life came so low and desperate that he felt himself trapped in limbo. Sitting on his bed, alone in the quiet night, he needed an answer. He opened his closet and found his Case Closed books, opened them, threw them against a wall. He was a betrayal of who he wanted to be. "Seems like you want to be a moderator." The young man looked over his shoulder and found Gin and Vodka standing ominously. They spoke, "Why don't you make an account on that website?" "I don't even like Conan any more." "What?!" "This weed is ridiculous." He laid in bed. If he was going to make an account. . . Step One Make multiple accounts and mask your IP Step Two Develop personalities, writing level and interests for each account Step Three Become well known on the forum on all these personalities Step Four Create the illusion that all of them hang out on Skype Step Five Establish that they all decided to meet in real life Step Six Alright, now this is where I get more specific. Follow along. KogoruMoore, works on the wiki and hangs out on the manga board to solve all the mysteries before Conan. Red_Angel08, hangs out in spam and seeks out the best subs on the internet. DC_Holmes, tries to start discussions between Sherlock Holmes and Detective Conan, plays the video games. On the day that they all meet, someone gets kidnapped. KogoruMoore logs in and posts in the General thread, "Help!!" The thread reads: "Me and two other people (Red_Angel08 and DC_Holmes) met up in real life and DC_Holmes took Red_Angel08 hostage! Does anyone know anything about him? He said not to go to the police, what do I do?!" Some forum users tried to respond, but the moderators weren't happy. DC_Holmes posted soon afterward: "This post is fake! KogoruMoore kidnapped Red_Angel08, I can't believe he's trying to pin this on me! Don't you hurt her!" Another user, named DC_Holmes2 entered: "My main account was hacked!" One moderator gets suspicious; the IP address for DC_Holmes2 isn't the same for DC_Holmes. He decides to call in back up. KogoruMoore responds: "Look, just call me on skype and I'll do whatever you want, just don't hurt her." Both KogoruMoore and DC_Holmes had friends on the forum that began sending PM's, trying to help them solve the mystery. All of this was being orchestrated by the young man. He lead on, sending replies to the PM's to other members, giving them clues that would ultimately misdirect them from the true crime; that KogoruMoore and DC_Holmes were kidnapped by Red_Angel08. There was a knock on his door. "Hello?" Asked the boy. There was nothing. He got up from his chair and opened the door only to see Conan himself. Shocked beyond belief, he stumbled back into his chair, "What are you doing here?" "It doesn't take long to figure you out. The manga book on the floor, it looks like you threw it. See, there's even a little indent right here." "Shut up, you don't know me!" "Is it worth it?" The young mans mind was thrown into consternation. He realized he was sitting in his desk, with the girl who thought his Japanese was Chinese writing. She repeated herself: "Is it worth it? To correct me on that so impolitely?" "No it isn't, I'm so sorry. I've been trying really hard to learn it and I haven't been doing so well." She looked at him forgivingly, "Why did you start, anyway?" "I don't think you'd understand." "Try me." "Well, I like reading this manga-- I mean, Japanese comic book--" "Oh really? My favourite is this one called Case Closed!" TO BE CONTINUED!!! HAHAHAA!!

I'm finding my time here well spent. There are a lot of ideas people have come up with that really impress me, a lot of cool discussions I would never really think about myself! I see there's a chat, but it doesn't seem to be well populated. Does anybody know some good skype groups, so we can meet up in real life and cause scenes of crime that somehow cryptically involve the forum, only for it to be saved by Detective Conan fans so that Gosho Aoyama could be like "wow, my book saved LIVES" or maybe we can just chat about Conan and stuff like that?
