Aries Bless 18 Report post Posted February 11, 2016 If the water tip was left on, then maybe the killer was desperate to get something flush away into the drain or thin out something, so the police would have difficulty in tracing it. Or maybe the killer arranged some sort of murder-trap that killed the victim, while he was all alone, so the water tip was one because the victim opened it himself, but after he was killed there no one to close it. (The Miyano died in a fire. Doesn't that sound a bit supisious? The BO always erased lose links by using fire)

DCUniverseAficionado 252 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 A how-dunnit, huh? Shuichi's father was probably an FBI agent who ended up investigating the case… which eventually led to his apparent death. Remember, Masumi is 17—around the time Koji Haneda was murdered was when her father must've gotten caught up in BO affairs. This led Shuichi to join the FBI. I wonder if we'll see Masumi and Mary approach Shiho/Ai at Agasa's house while Andre is watching, next file. After all, if Shuichi/Subaru appeared "soon" as Gosho's postcard said, it's not unreasonable to discount the possibility that they'll appear in this case. Heliotropic 139 Report post Posted February 13, 2016 949 Text Spoiler translations from Spimer File 949: Sweet scentOkiya lets out that it was his father and not him who was involved in the case of 17 years ago: when Conan tries asking about his father Okiya instead asks Conan who he really is so Conan doesn't ask anymore. The 1st discoverer (owner of a candy shop) has his wounds taken care of and is about to leave yet he's stopped from doing so (presumably by the police). Okiya then asks him whether he stepped into glass with the right foot. The 1st discoverer replies that he stepped into the glass with the left foot and that he'd damaged his right foot in an accident time ago. Nevertheless, they ask the 1st discoverer to recreate his tale of the discovery. After the man got checked by the bodyguards on the entrance of the annex he opened the sliding door to step inside yet no-one came out: he called out in a loud voice yet there was no response. He then realized that the bathroom's dressing room door further inside was opened: he peeked inside and found the victim already dead or so he says yet if the door was fully opened then he shouldn't have stepped on the debris: if they are to believe that the door was only a bit opened then it feels odd that the debris weren't stepped by the opened door. The 1st discoverer objects that if he'd been the one to attack the victim he should have blood spurts: he takes off his coat but his shirt's buttons aren't correctly set. The back's cuff is popping out of the trousers and despite that he's tightened the tie his outfit as a whole is untidy. The forensics finish taking photos of the crime scene and are about to retrieve the debris when Okiya asks the 1st discoverer whether he stepped into the debris barefoot or not: the man answers he was wearing slippers and brings out evidence of that. The forensics carrying the body pass next to the ground and they notice a sweet scent: for some unknown reason the victim's wounds see to have a honey-like paste.Megure tells Conan and the other 2 to come out and they are convinced that the man is the culprit yet how he did it and what was the weapon remain unknown: they ask the bodyguards about what the 1st discoverer carried upon coming:. A vinyl bag containing a bonus figure to be put in candy. His wallet. A handkerchief. KeysAnd, apart from that there was a color ball like the ones that sell in candy shops that landed in the yard: it was only 1 ball and no-one came to ask for it so they didn't mind it but now that there's this case going on they'd handed it over to the police. It was rolling on the ground next to a small window without steel bars, the bathroom's feet but it was a small space in which not even a child could fit in: they add that it was pretty loud when it was rolling on the ground despite its size: Conan and Okiya begin to wonder if the weapon was hidden inside of that ball when Agasa screams at seeing a row of ants. He says that they're cute when they're picture book drawings but he hates the real ones.Okiya looks at where the ants head to and finds something that's ended up beneath the edge (of the bathroom?).Side-note: "Is the weapon where the ants head to...!? Next issue, the resolution!"

"Unfortunately, Akai's father is already… it's a secret!" It's not been established when Kiritake (the likely name of the father on Shukichi's marriage registration form) apparently died—he could've apparently done so 17 years ago, or 15 years ago. We do know that Hyoue's accident was 15 years ago, though, and back during Kawanakajima, it was hinted that the real Hyoue had been replaced… hmm…

Serinox 127 Report post Posted February 14, 2016 Masumi said her father died. (File 872) Yeah, but Masumi also thought that Shuichi was dead, which wasn't true either, so the Akai father might be alive without Masumi knowing it.
Uchiha Shadow 44 Report post Posted February 14, 2016 Masumi said her father died. (File 872) And she said her mother is in America, which is not likely, so she can lie, and it could be the same with Shuu's case, he's alive, they just don't know. Aries Bless 18 Report post Posted February 15, 2016 Maybe Asaka was the Akai father, A FBI agent who was assisted to protect Amanda under an alias. If BO was behind Amanda's death then maybe they took Asaka with them to interrogate him about the FBI and killed him later, or perhaps they just took him away in order to make him a likely suspect if Amanda and Koji's deaths was suspected to be murder. Heliotropic 139 Report post Posted February 17, 2016 Asaka is a woman, isn't she? From the picture in File 948... It's rather hard to say... the gender doesn't seem to be specified, but "Asaka" is apparently a female given name? I thought they were a man at first glance.
DCUniverseAficionado 252 Report post Posted February 17, 2016 If Gosho said that the list (or, more likely, Koji Haneda's name, and, thus, himself) is a red herring, then maybe Asaka (who is evidently a woman) is... This can only be the case, of course, if certain threads brought up by this case go nowhere/are dead ends, giving the Movie room to use them (and reference to Koji Haneda and the current case will be, of course, minimal). - Shuukichi, Mary or someone else might be the one who re-posted the information about Kouji's case in hope that someone will share something they know about the incident... It's more likely Mary or someone else. Either way, they must've been connected to Amanda and had access to the files on the case, or were there, and then there's why they felt motivated to upload this info, seventeen years later (they may have been doing this for years, but the waiting period is still curious). - Elena and Atsushi were working on the "Silver Bullet" project, the "dream drug" that they had high hopes for to do good! The BO funded their research with the intention of stealing their work, after they successfully complete it, and then use their formula to create Apotoxin 4869! All the BO supporters/funders, like Pisco, were promised to get the drug that BO had in mind, Apotoxin 4869, and after hearing Elena's tape about what Apotoxin 4869 was supposed to be("Silver Bullet"), Shiho realized that the BO lied to her about her parents accident and that she has been working on making the wrong drug all along (hence her crying during MT about not knowing that she never should have created Apotoxin 4869)... the shrinking side-effect is from Aptx4869, and the main effect of "Silver Bullet" is maybe something along the lines of immortality/youth/medical aid... This is why she thinks, on Page 4 of File 948, "But what they..." (her parents) "wanted me to make... was another drug..." (Silver Bullet). The chances of Vermouth's current state being caused by Silver Bullet are going up, in my book...

I know Kor already wrote this on DCTP, but I'll write it here again for anyone who doesn't read that forum: the gender of Asaka is still unclear. The current English translation that is floating around uses "she/her" for Asaka, but there aren't any gender-definitive pronouns or anything of that like used in the Japanese text; in short: mistranslation.
