Detectives who have affected Detective Conan

The character of Conan is obviously based to some extent on Sherlock Holmes, but what are the 

specific parts of his personality that show that? What other detectives can be seen in his personality? 

Are there any other detectives in DC that are heavily drawn on a detective you've read about?

Well, if you are talking specifically about Conan/Shinichi. Then aside from Sherlock Holmes, the disguise to act childlike is somewhat similar to Hercule Poirot's simple minded misconception at first glance. Also the hot-headed aspect may be influenced by Philip Marlowe/Raymond Chandler who by the way is a heavy influence on Heiji. Mycroft the older smarter brother of Sherlock Holmes, influenced Yuusaku's character. Kaito Kid is ascribed to be an amalgamation of Arsene Lupin. Another assumption is that Anokata aka the Boss is influenced by Moriarty if Gosho-sama is going in that direction. And of course there are many others..
