Shirayuki Hana 3 Report post Posted January 6, 2011 hi guys. this just came to my mind while ago. Why not try deducing contest here? I mean, in different perspectives or aspects or fields. The one who win may have the title of "Detective of the Year" or "The Smartass who kicks everyone's butt", something like that. But of course, they cannot win that easily. They should undergo a lot of tests. Every test, there may be three or two winners, then they earn a certain point. For example: The points required for the title: "Smartest Someone(only eg okay?)" is 10000 points, and they continue to win, and they get 10thou points, then the title is theirs. But, when the title is already occupied, they must strive for another title. Of course the admins won't tell us how many points, we just need to win every tests. Take note: Once two or more players got the 10000 points at the same time(i doubt it'll happen, but just in case), they should have a timebreaker, and the admin will announce the day they should be online so they could have a online match. Of course it will include the way we speak(or type), and being natural. I bet the admin can detect those. Also, cheating will be detected. Context Clues, my friends. ) Computer maniacs can detect copy paste ideas. Just rely to your stock knowledge, like Shinichi and heiji If you have questions, ask me now

Scar Akai 65 Report post Posted January 7, 2011 This might be good but it depends on what stuffs чöü are planning Τ☺ let the members take. On DC stuffs? On General Detective stuffs? What? And чöü might also want Τ☺ consider Ŧђǎт we are talking about taking a test in the net which might result in members cheating by discussing answers through 'pm' and 'msn' or such... They can also google or wiki for the answers of the questions. It won't be good Τ☺ have a fake 'number 1', will it?

Chekhov MacGuffin 1089 Report post Posted February 6, 2011 It's not like I have been a staff member for long, but why don't you guys decide on some questions and the rules and stuff and run a test version? Unless a staff member volunteers (I'm not, sorry), it will most likely be one of you who designs the game and works as "Game Master". It could be played in the offtopic section like how DCTP does Mafia. You might want to also discuss it with Detective Kudo who posted pretty much the same thing as you guys did. Satou San 1 Report post Posted February 7, 2011 The question or situations must be a different scene from those cases in the episodes of DC, it must be something else that will surely rip all the knowledge in our brains. Its the complexity that should challenge us, question is, who will be the game master for this challenge?

Detective Kudo 28 Report post Posted March 9, 2011 And чöü might also want Τ☺ consider Ŧђǎт we are talking about taking a test in the net which might result in members cheating by discussing answers through 'pm' and 'msn' or such... Yea thats true, but what would be the fun in that? If you cheat somehow, it will defeat the whole purpose of the game. Therefore we trust DCW members to be trust worthy
IdentityUnknown 216 Report post Posted March 26, 2011 Honestly, that is a good idea! No one is complaining about me and DG being the "game masters", right? EDIT: I got the shell of the thread done over here, take a look: *raises hand* I'm complaining. JK. xXLeration already made the game. he, me and @Detective Kudo are the game masters. have a look at the game in the game forum I hope you will like it. Take care and have fun. Which game was that? I like the idea as well, but I think we have a similar version in the "Beat Conan deduction game" (@Detective Gin: Was that the one you were talking about?). This version seems more complex, and we would need a whole lot of people who are good with deductions/mysteries, along with writing. I say we need more details and specifics before we can actually put this into play, plus it would be difficult to set up times judging by the time difference between many of us. Go ahead and try it, but before you do so, we really need somebody to get specific rules, extra details, etc. It would be easy to find things online which would make it easier for techies, plus people can communicate with friends. In real life, detectives would be allowed to use that, but if you're saying we shouldn't, you need to find a way to put a barrier up or something like that. Maybe an honor code, but people are perfectly capable of lying. Perhaps people should be in teams? They could communicate and maybe by the end of the week, come to some sort of conclusion and present it? The team with the closest deduction wins. Teams would probably need to be decided by the Game Master, seeing as we want more of an even one. However, if you were considering a real life scenario, it would probably be better for people to get into groups themselves then report it to the Game Master. Also, would the Game Master (or whoever is organizing this) give out hints? How often would this deduction contest take place? Please be more specific, or else we can't put this into action. Detective Kudo 28 Report post Posted January 11, 2012 umkay, its in the games section under whodunnit (create a mystery that everyone has to try and solve) and the are you better than Conan? (i think that's the title) That one is for the Conan anime original episodes that are two to three parts. Post your best deduction. If we get enough peoples attention then it will be revived

Bourbon45 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2012 why not base the contest on upcoming cases? the first person to correctly solve the recent case for example, and you collect points that way.
