CarpetCrawler 280 Report post Posted March 20, 2012 why not base the contest on upcoming cases? the first person to correctly solve the recent case for example, and you collect points that way. Chekhov would win all of them. In all seriousness, it's certainly not a bad idea.
Kyuu Nye 425 Report post Posted March 20, 2012 Great idea, but you need a method to ensure outside help is not possible. Using current cases is a no go because people throw theories around all the time on here, dctp and in dctp's spoiler box. That isn't fair to all who are participating. Using current cases is a no go because people throw theories around all the time on here, dctp and in dctp's spoiler box. That isn't fair to all who are participating. The issue of outside help, or, and I'll jump a bit, 'cheating', is one of the main hurdles that I think we need to get over before this idea gets put into motion. And I'm not exactly sure how'd one manage to make sure no one gets such outside help.

And we're only counting English Conan sites, people will read theories from countless sources, in countless languages as well. Since the Chinese scans appear almost a week earlier than the file's actual release date, someone who understands Chinese can very well "takes a look" at discussions on those websites even before the file itself comes out. Eisuke 3 Report post Posted April 8, 2012 I think the idea sounds fun but I don't think we should have it like a quiz about detective conan. there would be spoilers everywhere. We should do stuff like Layton style puzzles (not directly ripped off from Layton games, obviously  ) and codes. Have them relate in Conan in some way if you want. e.g.For the first round we can have something simple like this: Crack the code: 3-1-19-5-3-12-15-19-5-4. Hint: It's as easy as ABC! Then as it progresses the puzzles will become increasingly complex.
