TML 18 Report post Posted January 27, 2011 I recently saw a comment on another website that "Japanese broadcasting rules require you to end your series at episode 999..." Is that really true? If it were, then it would imply that at the current pace of 40-45 episodes/year, the Detective Conan anime series would be forced to end sometime between 2018-2021, which is 22-25 years after the first episode. CarpetCrawler 280 Report post Posted January 27, 2011 There's quite a few shows that have broken that "rule", if that's really true.
Wakarimashita 137 Report post Posted January 27, 2011 It's rubbish, Sazae-san, Doraemon, Nintama Rantaro and Hoka Hoka Kazoku all have over 1000 episodes. Look here !

Your information seems off...but the date of DC ending seems realistic enough.
