That's fine most of the time because since I'm eternally cold and I wear sweaters/long sleeves but the one day I don't... pain Halloween's been big in Denmark for a good while. I don't know how the Thanksgiving would work, all I've heard is rumors that people have begun celebrating it, though none that I know personally. It's just that the US is everywhere, such as in the news, on TV, the internet, etc. so a lot of people learn about its culture and tries it out themselves. It's probably a trend to be 'American'. More and more English words are also being used in everyday talk, and while I find it somewhat annoying, I guess I'll just have to accept it. It doesn't matter what language people speak in, as long as one is able to understand it. Huh, I always thought other countries found the US to be really annoying and would maybe even go out of their way to not sound American haha. The holiday thing probably isn't all bad though, kids probably really enjoy Halloween and the few taking advantage of Thanksgiving are probably enjoying their nice, large meal. That integrating English into your native language is probably weird though. With English bringing words in from other languages isn't unusual but in languages that don't really have many loanwords it's gotta be an adjustment. Is it mainly like slang and stuff? Anyway, the US is big and there should therefore be more and possibly better opportunities than in Denmark. I don't get this... I've never been very patriotic. America's a great place to live and all, but when regarding world affairs, it's pretty stupid. After years and years of schooling, we still haven't learned about most of the world and other countries' contributions, nor did we learn about what we did to some countries. Almost everyday you'd see an ad on TV about donating to help wounded soldiers returning from Afghanistan. What Obama did with withdrawing those troops made a ton of people happy; a lot of Americans don't want to be involved in these things. Personally, I think we should intervene if there's some crisis, but the way they're handling the crises are terrible. I'm not the most informed person on this topic, but hey, it's not hard to find things wrong with our system. First sentence: o.O Godddd... Did you see my posts :/? Oh, the horror :x Last para: Haiz, I once had an American teacher as my English teacher and I like talking to him a lot cuz he is really wise. He told me about the history lessons in USA and started enlightening me that every country has its own version of world history That's unfortunately true. The one you should worry about is war by deceiving the masses/someone into doing something. It is called Psychological Warfare. This one is a lot more scarier coz you will really never know if it is already happening. Nah...
