What's on Your Mind?

Recommended Posts

Well, to be honest, before I met Grace, there were girls who actually confessed to me that they like me...

Of Course I rejected them (I felt bad when ever I did though) because... I can't pick up conversations with them...

Scientific language... is hard to understand unless you know it, or you want to learn it...

Grace and I both teach and learn at the same time while talking... which is why she's perfect.

Sorry Haibara... I finally found the right person.

Haibara: *smirk* Hmpf... idiot...

Conan: *stares* Oi, oi! don't space out... <_<

Abandoning Haibara = Abandoning Grace.

So I did not abandon her. Her soul is within Grace. (They're so similar!! well, now Grace is smiling more often...)

JOHNxGRACE FOREVER :D

I'm tired...really tired...I zonked out for a few hours but woke up again...*sighs*

LOL! Pipi-chan seems to be EVEN MORE EXCITED than CURE-KUN himself!!!!

Or do you think this calls for a celebration??? Shall we prepare a party??? >_<

We should have a celebration!!! >.< also in posting from school in such a bad student =P lol, this is awesome!!!! XD

Tronus (can I call you that?), there is actually no such thing as global warming. They call it climate change now. According to recent studies, the temperature on Earth has actually DECREASED in the past decade. So...yeah.

Decreasing??

How come nobody told me that??haha

Yeah... I heard that...

That's really a good news if that is true...

But I still believe in Global Warming that it is happening right at this moment...(I actually can feel it)hehe

Okay, I have my opinion, u have your opinion...

I accept that...

Actually, Global cooling can also be considered as a side effect of global warming.

The gases actually prevent the heat from going out into space but it also keeps the sun's rays from coming in. Another name for this may actually be called ermm... global dimming? Due to air pollution, its preventing the sun's rays from reaching the earth and thats why the temperature will fall - resulting in global cooling. All this together is a form of climate change in itself. So whether or not it is global warming, or global cooling, we have to reduce the emmissions as much as possible.

kekeke... or so I've heard :P

That's why we call it "climate change", which contains global warming and global cooling (according to research, the globe's temperature has decreased). It's not saying we shouldn't plant more trees and try not to decrease CO2 levels in the air, however, we must acknowledge that we as humans can't do much. One volcanic eruption completely cancelled all of our efforts in the past decade to reduce CO2 emissions.

Several parts of the globe are much warmer than usual (this is a matter of opinion sometimes, when you hear people say "global warming" you may be inclined to feel it is warmer even if it is not -- I forgot the exact term for this). However, certain places are also getting cooler. And I don't state this as an opinion, I state this as a global fact found through conducting research on how the weather has changed. The climate is rather different from before. For instance, we are now worrying about lower pH levels in oceans. A bit of research should tell you that they actually used to be much lower than they are now.

Of course, I agree to planting trees, reducing CO2 emissions, etc. etc. but I just feel the need to point out that it'll be difficult. Our world is made to change, one of the reasons why it has gone through ice ages and times like that. I was surprised when I found out that it wasn't really "global warming" and was "climate change" as well.

KKLT, I'm not quite sure about that. Weren't we all taught that CO2 depletes the ozone layer? Wouldn't that allow even more of the sun's rays in, coincidentally being less capable of blocking out the harmful parts? I also heard from somewhere (not sure if this is true or not) that there is a wide, gaping hole in the ozone layer right now. I forgot what the supposed effects were though...

Oryt...If it is climate change...

My teacher told me we are suppose to be in ice age now... Is that even true??

If we take into account the average difference in timing of ice ages along with the decreasing of global temperatures and agriculture loss, it is perfectly possible that we will be sinking into an ice age soon. However, I don't believe we are fully in it yet. (Note: Opinion statement, dunno if it is true or not).

I know that the entire country of China is in a drought right now. If we were to define our terms (like in debate), a drought is simply a period of time with little rainfall. I haven't been everywhere in China, but I know that Shanghai's summers are extraordinarily humid (STAY IN UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE). So I suppose it's possible that we may be gradually sinking into an ice age.

Check the news. That should give you some idea of what's going on globally. *only checks news to see the latest crimes*

Well, the news here...

You know... about the drowning polar bears...

And the hurricane...

and the great flood...

HOHOHO...

i don't really watch news...

Well, if you think in long-term cases, all of that could affect your life, right?

@Pipi-chan: CO2 depletes the ozone layer and allows the sun's rays to come in resulting in harmful UV rays. But the thing doesnt just stop there. We have other gases being released into the air as well. All these air pollution like smoke particles, and large gas particles are actually part of the reason the sun's rays are being blocked. The greenhouse effect is what's been causing the global warming. The gases are trapping the heat within the earth's layer. If these heat are not released, it will remain within earth and heat up the earth. However, at the same time, the air pollution are keeping the sun's rays from coming in. When the sun's rays do not reach the land and heat up the earth, the temperatures will drop resulting in global cooling. Thats why both of these effects are actually happening at the same time.

So its some kind of paradox we're looking at. There are people who are afraid that if we remove those gases, we will then get a direct impact from the sun's rays from the holes in the ozone layer and cause widepread skin diseases and may even cause faster global warming...

Edits:*there are people who thinks that* doesnt mean its actually true. We dont know exactly what will happen.

If you're considering it from that way, the only solution I see is time and a steady balance of decreasing both air pollution and CO2 emissions. If we do it too quickly, the environment will have very little time to adapt and may result in...something that isn't so pretty. However, we need to do it at a relatively fast pace so that we are able to decrease the amount of time we must use to get rid of the gases (since they are steadily increasing).

I think I'll leave it to the scientists. I hate reading scientific technical reports...had enough when trying to find the properties of fluorescent ink. XP

Yea.. that's why Im not really concerned now whether it is climate change, global warming or global cooling... It doesnt matter which one... I just know the Earth is in trouble.
