He comes to the café every once in a while and lives in [[Beika]]{{note|group="N"|Given that he quickly heard rumors that Azusa and Amuro were dating, he must live in the vicinity of the café. He wears a cap and is seen wearing a light jacket and a white t-shirt in his first appearance, and later a short-sleeved jacket with a black t-shirt under it<ref name="F1128"/>. As he stares at Azusa and Amuro and has been sitting at the counter for a while, the protagonists think that he is suspicious, but unbeknownst to them, he was stalking them to make sure the two of them were not going out together. When Amuro wonders if there is any herb salt left, Kanamaru points to bottom cabinets, saying that there should be some under there. Conan and the others think that it is suspicious, as they had not seen him at the café before. Later, after Azusa is kidnapped, he is mentioned by the protagonists as a potential suspect, due to his glare and him wearing a mask and coughing, but is later cleared as a suspect. After the case is resolved and Azusa is back safe and sound, Kanamaru comes back to the café some days later without his mask and Azusa finally recognizes him. As they wonder what he was back then, he reveals his true motive, while blushing. It is unknown if he really had a cough or if the mask was used to hide himself when stalking the two workers. == Name origin == [[file:EP350-351 Master.jpg|thumb|right|200px|The master in his original anime apperance.]] His name, like the other suspects in the case, comes from dishes at Café Poirot. In his case, it comes from {{nihongo|"curry"|カレー|karē}}<ref>http://bdamakuriimu.blog38.fc2.com/blog-entry-1717.html</ref>. Additionally, he physically resembles the [[Café Poirot Master]], who never appeared before in the [[manga]], and only in the [[The Forgotten Cell Phone|anime adaptation]] of files [[File 438|438]]-[[File 440|440]]. They have the same black short and big nose, and the master's voice actor is [[Junichi Kanemaru]] (金丸 淳一), whose last name is the same kanji as Reita Kanamaru's.
