Sugita (杉田 Sugita ), commonly referred to as Detective Sugita (杉田刑事 Sugita-keiji ), is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.
Background
Sugita is a detective (刑事 keiji ) from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Division One Investigations. He loves Detective Sato and thus jealous of Detective Takagi, much often to boycott with all his colleagues their dates. Superintendent Matsumoto puts always awe to him.
He meets Conan Edogawa in several cases and is surprised by his great deduction only during Takagi's kidnapping, but Conan justifies himself saying that this is what Shinichi Kudo told him first on the phone[2]. In a previous case, he had to save Conan from a kidnapper: the hostage's life is his priority.[3]
