In chapter 768 of the manga, a new character was introduced, and she claims her name is Sera (世良). It is unknown whether or not she is telling the truth as of now. She transfers to Ran's highschool after she fails a deduction on the Jeet Kune Do case.

Background

Not much is known about this mystery girl yet other than the fact that she is skilled at jeet kune do, a type of martial arts.

Appearance

At first, she wears a fedora and a dark jacket. But when she transfers to Ran's high school, she gets rid of her fedora and wears appropriate female clothing. Her hair is wavy and short; it doesn't even touch her shoulders.

Personality

Though she does appear to be an ally, there are still many questions about Sera that are unanswered. She acts welcoming, but there is a mysterious aura about her. Most of her past is still unknown.

Speculation

Sera mentioning Conan's name.

Her true identity is unknown. The fact that she knew Conan's name before Conan even managed to introduce himself shows that she might be someone who has had contact (indirect or direct) with him. She has claimed to be a detective by trade, so another theory is that she is the last of the four "Great Detectives", like The Great Detective of the North, Hakuba, The Great Detective of the West, Heiji, or The Great Detective of the East, Shinichi. Others may look at her martial arts skills and say she might be one of Ran's rivals, though Ran, did not recognize him. Some still speculate she could be Bourbon from the Black Organization, though that is starting to look unlikely due to the fact that Bourbon is a male while Sera is a female.
