I'm fairly new here at the wiki, but I'm no stranger to the Conan fandom.
+
I've been editing on the wiki since 2009!

I entered in a good majority of the titles on the Anime News Network anime episode listing for Conan and am the editor of the Japanese version of the show at TV.com.

I currently run a Detective Conan blog on Tumblr called Detective Conan Rewatch in which I watch every episode, movie, OVA, and TV special of the series as well as spin-offs such as the Magic Kaito 1412 series and specials, the drama specials and series, and also take a look at Aoyama's first main series, Yaiba.

Transliteration Style
* I use Hepburn romanization for particles. This means I write "he" (へ) as "e", "wo" (を) as "o", and "ha" (は) as "wa".
+
* I try to stick to Wikipedia's Manual of Style for romanization in Japanese articles. Wikipedia uses modified Hepburn romanization. For example, this means I write particles "he" (へ) as "e", "wo" (を) as "o", and "ha" (は) as "wa".
* Katakana usage is capitalized. Therefore I write コナン as KONAN.

Genji Kojima (32) is Genta's father, a true "Edokko" (child of Tokyo). For most of the series he was an unseen character, only mentioned by Genta from time to time. However, he finally made his debut in the Kojima Contest Case. First appears in Volume 63 and is the keyhole character for that volume.

Genji Kojima is first met by Conan and the other Detective Boys during a "Super Kojima" contest, which is actually a front for the show's sponsor, an eccentric industrialist named Gonsaku Kojima, to find the thief of a highly-priced painting who had also murdered his beloved dog. However, the plan turns into a homicide case when the sponsor is murdered- and Genta's father, as one of the three finalists, becomes one of the suspects in the case. Conan, however, manages to prove Genji's innocence and reveal the identity of the real culprit, who promptly denies the confession he has just made. However, Genji trips him up and confronts him so aggressively that the delinquent meekly admits his guilt and is subsequently arrested.

Genji's residence is also a liquor store by the name of "Kojima Liquors".

Genji Kojima prides himself of being a true edokko ("child of Tokyo"): He has a strong sense of justice, is confrontational, loves sushi and speaks with a distinct, old-fashioned dialect. He can be harsh and demanding, but he is actually very kind and caring. Though he appears strongwilled, he - like his son - may actually live under the thumb of his rather formidable wife.

Midori Megure
Megure Family

Midori Megure (37-38) is Inspector Megure's wife. When Midori was about 18 years old, a serial hit-and-runner was stalking the streets, randomly targeting high school girls wearing long skirts, due to the harassment by a girl gang he had suffered under (the girls had been wearing long skirts as well, as a part of their rebellious looks). Midori was also a member of a girl gang, and her best friend ended up the first fatality, so since the culprit had not been caught after a while she decided to help apprehend the killer and volunteered to act as a decoy. There was an apparent shortage of police able to help her, and Midori was extremely stubborn and insisted to be alone; under orders of Commisioner Matsumoto, she was teamed up with Juzo Megure, then still a junior police officer.

Unfortunately, the car runner surprised and hit them both. Megure tried to pull Midori out of danger, but they were still harmed; fortunately, Megure was able to remember the car's license number, and the perpetrator was soon arrested. Midori was gravely injured in the accident, but recovered with only a scar on her forehead to show for her ordeal, and some time afterwards she married Megure out of gratitude. In a strange switch of role, she is perhaps the only person who has managed to temper his impulsive surges, a role her husband feels a bit bashful about.

Midori has also appeared, in an unseen role, as a witness to a crime and had to be taken to the station for questioning, as well as making a cameo appearance during the White Day Murder Case.

In her youth, Midori was quite headstrong and vindictive, even wild in behavior. Megure's memories about the case where they met have her calling the police useless for not catching her friend's murderer, then cockily saying she's a good decoy, and then only admitting she chewed on more than she could swallow after being almost killed by the same culprit. It's hinted but not directly stated that Midori was a sukeban or girl delinquent in these times, hence why she was so determined to catch the man who killed her friend and other girls of the same subculture.

Since her near-death accident and her marriage to Megure, Midori has mellowed considerably and has evolved into a loving wife - perhaps this is the main reason why Megure keeps his head and the scar he shares with Midori always covered up, so no one will learn about her past. However, she still retains a younger girl's personality, as evidenced when she was upset enough to get drunk when she thought Megure didn't get her anything for White Day and how happy she was when she found her present.

Chosuke Takagi is a police detective and Inspector Megure's senior by two years. He was moved from Tokyo to Tottori in order to investigate a large crime syndicate there. Chosuke first appeared in MPD Case 6, in which the other Tokyo police thought Wataru Takagi was being sent to Tottori. Chosuke investigated a crime with Miwako Sato and Wataru Takagi that involved a friend of Chiba's. After the case was solved, Takagi found out that it was Chosuke being sent to Tottori and not him. Chosuke was shown to be very aggressive at times in an investigation. Once he grabbed Chiba by the collar and slammed him against the wall just to ask him for confirmation to a question. He is also very efficient at investigating, taking notice of minor details and connecting the dots rather quickly. He suspected Chiba of lying to protect his friend in the first case he appeared in, because he believed that as a police detective he had to suspect everyone no matter how good they are.

There she met Tomoaki Araide, then a medical student in his practical period, who looked after her. After her recovery, she was hired by Tomoaki's stepmother, Yoko Araide, as a housemaid and aid to her eldery mother-in-law, Mitsu Araide.

Eventually, Hikaru became an unwitting pawn in Yoko's scheme to murder her womanizing husband for driving her dear friend, Tomoaki's mother, to suicide. When Yoko Araide was exposed as the murderer, Conan - through his use of the "Sleeping Kogoro" - suggested that Hikaru's unknowing involvement in Dr. Araide's murder be kept secret, lest it would cause her a serious shock if she found out that she had helped killing her employer. This secret fact eventually proved vital in exposing Vermouth.

When Vermouth decided to infiltrate the Beika area disguised as Dr. Araide, she attempted to have Tomoaki and his family eliminated. However, FBI agent Jodie Starling, who had been observing Vermouth undercover, was able to thwart the plan, rescuing the Araides and Hikaru and bringing them to America for safekeeping. After Vermouth's cover was finally blown, Hikaru returned to Beika along with her employers and has continued to serve them ever since.

Hikaru appears to be a very friendly and caring, if rather shy and emotional, person. During her stint with Araide senior, she was prone to minor household accidents. These accidents may have occurred due to the possibility that she has a crush on her employer's son and therefore was anxious about having to leave him, or him getting involved with someone else.

Kyosuke murdered 2 people in a murder case relating to a Stradivarius. Conan, after some investigation, used "Sleeping Kogoro" to expose him as the culprit. Kyosuke attempted to commit suicide by jumping out a window, but his plan was foiled by Conan, who had predicted what he would try to do.

When Kyosuke was being taken away by the police, Conan asked him if he knew any songs that began with "B A G A". Kyosuke told him about the song "Nanatsu no Ko", information that would lead Conan to discovering Anokata's phone number.

Natsuki Koshimizu
Natsuki Koshimizu (20) was a High School Detective from Fukuoka, the capital of the Fukuoka Prefecture on Kyūshū, the southernmost island of the Japanese mainland. It is not known for how long exactly she has been engaged in investigative work; according to her own statement, however, she was a relative newcomer, with only 100 solved cases on her credit.

One year ago, a year after Natsuki had finished high school, a wealthy socialite was found hanged inside her manor house. The police and Natsuki concluded at first that she must have committed suicide (as she really had), but some time later Junya Tokitsu, another high school detective, appeared on the scene and declared that her death was actually a murder. This was a serious misconception, as Junya had fallen for a trick prepared by a burglar after the murder, but it was enough for the police to open a murder investigation. The only suspect in the case was the lady's young housemaid, Natsuki's best friend. She was repeatedly and harshly questioned by the police, and even though no conclusive evidence could be brought up against her, the girl cracked under the strain and eventually committed suicide.

Because Junya later realized that his deduction had been false, he asked to remain anonymous, and so Natsuki had only few scant clues to work with as she set out to avenge her friend's death. She finally decided to arrange a fake detectives' reality TV competition (Detective Koshien), with the most reputable High School Detectives attending; next to Junya and herself, this included Heiji Hattori and Shinichi Kudo (who could attend only as Conan Edogawa), and Saguru Hakuba, who had been asked to fill in for Shinichi. She arranged for her trap to be sprung on a remote island, cutting off all connections to the mainland while she sought to find the culprit.

Natsuki finally worked out that Junya was the person responsible and killed him by bashing his head with a hammer when he demonstrated his callousness and self-interest about the past case with no feelings of remorse whatsoever. She also trapped herself and her entourage on the island to die of starvation, since two of them - the burglar who had unintentionally backed up Junya's claims, by using the trick he discovered, to try stealing from the manor; and the manor's butler who had refused to clear the case out of misguided affection for the lady, since he didn't want people to know she was mentally ill due to the huge prejudices against mental illnesses in Japan - were also (if more indirectly) responsible for her friend's death. Conan and Heiji managed to expose her as the culprit, and she quietly allowed herself to be given to the authorities, but not before expressing her deepest respect for the two and the hope of working with them some time in the future.

Natsuki is apparently a capable investigator; however, as the Detective Koshien Case has proven, she tends to be extremely stubborn and single-minded if a case touches her personally, and she pursues the culprit(s) relentlessly until they are brought to justice. Though she is by no means a thoroughly evil person, but actually a gentle and considerate character, her persistance does tend to cloud her judgement at times. On her plus side, she is a careful planner and strategist, as well as being a natural actress.

Natsuki has also apparently developed a closer personal interest in Heiji Hattori for his impulsive, but ultimately dedicated demeanor.

She is the keyhole character for Volume 54. She is voiced by Risa Hayamizu.

Junya Tokitsu
Junya Tokitsu (18) was the High School Detective representing the North in the Detective Koshien that Conan Edogawa, Heiji Hattori, Saguru Hakuba and Natsuki Koshimizu attended. Though he was born in Tokyo, he grew up in Hokkaido. He had handled approximately 300 cases, where more than 250 people were arrested and prosecuted while got away and committed suicide. He was invited to participate in the Detective Koshien by a fake Nichiuri director.

After excusing himself to prepare his deductions for the first round case, he was later found dead in his room. It was locked room murder case. The suspects were Koshimizu, Kouya and Tsuchio. Later, Conan found out the murderer. Koshimizu Natsuki killed Tokitsu Junya and used the same locked room trick that was used in the Lavender Murder Case.

Tokitsu Junya was the detective involved during that case who unfortunately made wrong deductions saying that it was murder case even though it was actually a suicide. He realized that his deduction was wrong but didn't correct himself; that caused Natsuki's friend to be suspected and later commit suicide. When Natsuki confronted him on it, Junya showed little to no remorse, which sent her over the edge and caused her to beat him to death with a hammer.

Tokitsu has rather odd speech patterns, referring to himself as shousei (小生). This is a rather archaic, self-deprecating form of "I" used by males with equals and subordinates; nowadays it's rare, but still used sometimes in letters and such. This is actually quite important to the plot, since Natsuki's friend noticed how unusual it was and told Natsuki that "a highschool detective with an odd accent" was the one who mistakenly got her accused for the Lavender Murder Case. Not knowing the name of said "highschool detective", which wasn't released to the press due to being a minor, Natsuki gathered a group of sleuths fitting the description: Tokitsu, Hakuba (whose Japanese was odd-sounding due to living abroad), and Heiji (who has a strong Osaka accent).

He is voiced by Miki Shinichirou.

Minerva Glass (22) is an excellent tennis player from London, England.

When she was younger she lived in Japan. She placed first in Wimbledon for five consecutive years. She was ranked Number 1 and earned the name 'Grass Court Queen'.

Her father was German and her mother was English. Her father and little sister died an a traffic accident eight years prior to the current storyline. She has a younger brother named Apollo. She was coached by Ares Ashley, who was coached by her father. Ares quit coaching Minerva (although he liked her) because he blamed himself for her dad's death, since the he had died in the traffic accident when he'd been on his way to watch Ares's match. This saddened Minerva greatly.

After four consecutive years of domination at Wimbledon, Minerva was once again involved in it, vying for the top spot. A murderer named Hades put a bomb in Wimbledon in order to get revenge on Minerva's mother, whom he blamed for losing all his possessions after he lost a bet that Minerva would win a certain tennis match, which led to his mother being unavle to have surgery, which resulted in her death (Minerva lost the match because her mother wasn't there to encourage her).

Minerva met Ran and later Kogoro. During the match, Minerva received a note from Hades telling her he was targeting her mother. She began placing her serves in certain order and places, leaving a message in braille which Conan deciphered. Using his help, the culprit was caught and Minerva won the match for the fifth consecutive year.

Minerva later met Ran and Kogoro at the airport before they left to go back to Japan so she can thank Ran for her e-mail. She was very happy, thanks to the e-mail as well as the fact that Ares planned to become a tennis player again and had received a reply to an e-mail she had sent him.

Minerva is very friendly and cheerful. She took the trouble of going to the airport before Ran and Kogoro left for Japan in order to thank Ran for an e-mail she had sent her. She is an excellent tennis player, being able to calculate the placements of her serves in order to make a code which she hoped someone would figure out and come rescue her.

Her name is a reference to the Roman goddess Minerva (or Athena in Greek) as she has Apollo for her brother, her mother named Juno (Hera in Greek) and a coach named Ares. She is the keyhole character for Volume 71.

While watching a tennis match, Apollo received a note from a mysterious person who would turn out to be Hades. While looking for Sherlock Holmes, he met Conan, who said he was "Holmes's Apprentice", who took the note to investigate it. Later on Apollo went to his older sister to tell her about "Holmes's Apprentice". Eventually Apollo accompanied Ran and Kogoro as they investigated in London.

Background

I've been editing on the wiki since 2009!

I entered in a good majority of the titles on the Anime News Network anime episode listing for Conan and was an editor of the Japanese version of the show at TV.com.

I was one of the main hosts for the Detective Conan World Podcast along with CarpetCrawler, Southpaw, and Icka.

 • I try to stick to Wikipedia's Manual of Style for romanization in Japanese articles. Wikipedia uses modified Hepburn romanization. For example, this means I write particles "he" (へ) as "e", "wo" (を) as "o", and "ha" (は) as "wa".
