Situation

Kogoro, Ran and Conan are in a restaurant, when they overheard Tomoya Kusano talking about his kindness to his friend Hajime Yamanashi. Conan notice an angry suspicious man in hoodie. Later, Tomoya Kusano is found dead in the toilet.

The culprit is Hajime Yamanashi. He attacked Tomoya while he is using hand dryer, then using a roll of toilet paper to make the hand dryer keep working. The proof is a button from his jacket that was found in the toilet drain. His motive was that Tomoya indirectly caused his sister Akiho die after she saw a murder and was chased by the murderer. She was running to a police box, but there was no one there since the police was with Tomoya, who called them only because he saw a suspicious man outside his house. Aftermath, Akiho was also murdered, and Hajime, after hearing Tomoya's story, decide to revenge, so he killed Tomoya. It is revealed that Shin Kotani also wanted to murder Tomoya with the same method as Hajime's because he caused him to be fired from his work, but he refused to do it and decided to stay calm in the restaurant.

In the end, while waiting for the elevator, Kogoro wants to help an old woman, but the old woman thinks that Kogoro wants to rob her, so she quickly get into the elevator, not allowing Kogoro, Conan, and Ran in.
