Situation

Kogoro, Ran and Conan are in a restaurant, when they overheard Tomoya Kusano talking about his kindness to his friend Hajime Yamanashi. Conan notice an angry suspicious man in hoodie. Later, Tomoya Kusano is found dead in the toilet.

The culprit is Hajime Yamanashi. He attacked Tomoya while he was using the hand dryer in the bathroom, then used a roll of toilet paper to keep the hand dryer running. The proof is a button from his jacket that was found in the toilet drain. His motive was that Tomoya indirectly caused his sister Akiho death after she saw unfortunately witnessed a murder and was chased by the murderer. She was able to run to a police box, but there was no one there since the police officer was with Tomoya, who called them only because he saw a suspicious man outside his house. In the end, Akiho was also murdered, and Hajime, after hearing Tomoya's story, decided to get revenge, so he killed Tomoya. It is revealed that Shin Kotani also wanted to murder Tomoya with the same method that Hajime used because he caused him to be fired from his job, but he refused to do it and decided to stay calm in the restaurant.

In the end, while waiting for the elevator, Kogoro wants to help an old woman, but the old woman thinks that Kogoro wants to rob her, so she quickly get into the elevator, not allowing Kogoro, Conan, and Ran in.
