Hideki Hiroshima debuted as an episode director in the anime Dear Brother (おにいさまへ…) in 1991. Moreover, Hiroshima graduated from Osaka Designer College (大阪設計學校), and was originally from Tatsunoko Pro (タツノコプロ). He often works under animation works produced by Toei Animation (東映アニメーション) yet he is not affiliated with the studio.
Hiroshima joined the production of the Detective Conan anime in 1999, starting with Episode 173: The Revival of the Dying Message (Part 2), thereafter irregularly involved in the production. In 2003, after directing Episode 321: The Kidnapper's Disappearing Getaway Car (Part 1), he quit the production team and has not returned yet.
