Location: Oninohamura "Lodge Fossil Mansion"
Culprits: Sogen Nakatani and Akira Ogami
For the last few days, both had been lying about finding Moon's droppings in their excavation site although they never did. They did this to attract visitors to their village and make a revitalisation. Unfortunately, a freelance journalist has doubts about their fib and wants to get in touch with them at the excavation site.

Cause of death: Cyanide poisoning
Suspects: Sogen Nakatani and Umika Miyashita
After going to the toilet, Ogami disappears. Later, Haibara and Ayumi go to the washroom before finding Ogami dead. Conan arrives and detects the odor of almonds concluding Ogami has been poisoned.
