Compilation Series (総集編 Sōshūhen) is a technical terminology commonly found in Japanese animation works. It is regarded as a clip show of several scenes from a certain animation series and re-edited into a bundle of footage. The purpose of it is to give a general introduction to the plot, or it can be used to fill in the gaps when the production schedule is tight. They can be either released as a TV Special on televisions or as a movie to be aired in theatres.

In the context of the Detective Conan anime, often the notion aligns with promotional effects upon the annual movie releases, where the main theme of each compilation series is surrounded by a specific arc in the series.
