:::::Oh and the other cool thing is that the list will also auto-hide when the count reaches 50 and over (just like it is right now for the episodes). This way, even if the characters has a huge list of 500+ appearances, it won't create an immensely huge page until you click on the "Show" link. --Maurice 22:30, 27 November 2009 (UTC) | :::::Oh and the other cool thing is that the list will also auto-hide when the count reaches 50 and over (just like it is right now for the episodes). He's in everything!! LOL!! The only thing Conan isn't in is the Takagi/Satou opening for Glorious Mind. + | :How about we use the appearances page for frequently-appearing cast members to say something like, for instance, for the Anime section: "Character <name> appears in all the episodes except for <x> episodes: <followed by list>". Basically, we use the negation of the list for those characters. This would be great for characters like Ran, Kogoro, Megure, the Detective Boys, etc... Of course for Conan, we might simply need to create a parameter for the template so that you can pass an exact number of appearances for the character (without any list). But regarding the "negation" system, if no one has any objection, I could try to modify the add-on to support such a system. As for Shinichi, I perfectly agree as well. I remember someone asking me on Twitter to tell him about all the chapters where Shinichi would come back to (or be in) his original form and there wasn't much reference there I could use.. so yeah, it would indeed be pretty useful. --Maurice 22:54, 27 November 2009 (UTC) | ||

I really love Maurice's idea for pages like Ran and Kogoro, but wouldn't it be really hard if someone was looking for episodes that Kogoro DOES appear in? I mean, if the list shows what he doesn't appear in, and the person doesn't happen to know every episode of Detective Conan, they may be confused. I love the idea, but I'm not 100% sure on if we should implement it just yet. Chapters
Ryou in his latest edit, has a point. What shall we do about chapter appearances? CarpetCrawlermessage me 21:12, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- As we "speak", I'm trying to add manga appearances for Kid, but it's not working, it's not being shown as a list or displaying the "total number". NakagawaRyou 21:16, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- It may have to be set so that it counts the files. I'd leave a message for Maurice... CarpetCrawlermessage me 21:21, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- No worries. :) That was because the add-on I created did not handle "chapters" types of appearances. I just updated the code and uploaded the modified version of the add-on. I already checked and it seems to work properly. Note that it will say "Chapters" and not "Files" in the character's infobox cause it's more straightforward and "accessible" for readers I think (not many people would understand right away what Files would be referring to). --Maurice 22:22, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I had no preference on what to call them, I really only rarely call them Files anyway (in fact, when I work on this wiki is about the only time I do). NakagawaRyou 22:25, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Conan
On another note, I see now logical reason on doing an Appearances page for Conan. Why? Because we already have like 6 (Manga, Anime, Movies, OVAs, TV Specials, Drama)! He's in everything!! LOL!! The only thing Conan isn't in is the Takagi/Satou opening for Glorious Mind. Even though it's just for a second, he's even at the very end of the first chapter and episode. - How about we use the appearances page for frequently-appearing cast members to say something like, for instance, for the Anime section: "Character <name> appears in all the episodes except for <x> episodes: <followed by list>". Basically, we use the negation of the list for those characters. This would be great for characters like Ran, Kogoro, Megure, the Detective Boys, etc... Of course for Conan, we might simply need to create a parameter for the template so that you can pass an exact number of appearances for the character (without any list). - Yeah, that sounds good. (PS: I feel dumb now for misspelling a word as simple as "no" in the same sentence that I use the word "logical") ^^. NakagawaRyou 23:13, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Shinichi
Also, for Shinichi, I tend to add ALL of his appearances in episodes, and that includes flashbacks with him, or when you hear his voice in an episode, like when Conan calls Megure and then Shinichi's voice takes over. But either way, it's not hard to remember which ones have Conan returning as Shinichi, those I can recall off the top of my head. ^^ Should we make some sort of indicator saying that certain appearances are where Conan returns as Shinichi in person?
