The killer was '''Kaori Nakahara'''. It was find out that she bought a large number of various snacks in advance in the afternoon when she went to go buy ingredients for the hot pot they had for dinner. Before the crime, she took everyone's order and pretended to drive away, then parked the car a short distance away and took out everything that was on the list. By doing this she created an alibi so you she could go kill Oyama. The evidence were in the room that shows Kaori is the murderer it was,in the table. The blood suddenly stops, and it was revealed that it was in the tablecloth, Kogoro told them to place the tablecloth on the table so that the blood stains match. The dying message of Oyama left behind, he then recalls that Oyama died on his knees then said it now becomes quite obvious that their names have the same kanji as the pieces in shogi, and it was find out that Oyama always said that if he had a horse then he'd have it all. He then said that their names represent every piece, except for the knight, then told Ran to get the lighter that's on the sofa and put it on the tablecloth, the deduction continues that there's only one place where the bloodstains on the lighter and tablecloth match, then it shows that it was the rook. In other words, this dying message points to the person with the same kanji as the rook- Kaori Nakahara, then he reveals that she is the one who knocked the tablecloth off, then he reveals that the blood on the table suddenly stops, there's no blood on the sofa that the lighter was on. This proves that it was moved after the blood had completely dried. In other words, the murderer returned to to the scene of the crime and realized the message. The last is the unlucky thing for her was that she realized the message after she screamed.

Kaori confesses that she respected Oyama as a father, that's why she couldn't forgive him for stealing her thesis, Ginji reveals that it was about "The Development of Genetic Treatment for Intestinal Cancer". She then reveals that the thesis Oyama stole, it was the thesis that she put all her passion into for the past six years. The reason she write the thesis was for her father, who passed away because of intestinal cancer when she was young. The reason she became a doctor is that she devoted herself to that research was so that no other people would go through what her father did. She reveals that that's not the only motive she kill Oyama but not only he stole her thesis that she finally completed that Oyama also said, "It's no use! No one would believe that this thesis is yours now. And with me releasing that thesis, the scientific community is more likely to pay attention to it. That would make your dead father so happy." And laughed loudly. That was when she came with this plan, since that man stepped all over her father's memories. That's why she decided to open up holes in his lungs and make him die from one of the most excruciating deaths possible. But she then said to Kogoro that he made one mistake, she actually predicted someone would order salad and ice cream, salad was sold out, but she bought ice cream but it melted inside her car's heater.

==== File 102 - A Death During a Live Broadcast ====
 +
In the Nichiuri TV Production Team office Suwa receives a call from Director Kuroshima. Suwa starts to apologise about a special broadcast cancelling a movie when he recognises the voice as Matsuo's, a colleague of his. They reminisce about how they met - Matsuo imitating Kuroshima - and Suwa asks Matsuo what he wants. If it was about the decision at the meeting, the answer was still no. But no, Matsuo wanted to talk about an idea he had for a new show, and suggests that they meet up in the usual room after tonight's live show. He half-jokingly pleads for Suwa to come early when there are less people because he didn't want his idea to get stolen. He then pleads in earnest saying that it'll be the last time he asks, and then Suwa hangs up, saying that it better be. Matsuo is then revealed to be looking at a photograph of him and Suwa at an old press conference. He tosses the photo in the air and fires a gun at it.

=== File 102 - A Death During a Live Broadcast ===
+
A countdown begins for the live show. Matsuo and his assistant, Ayako Nagai, do the introduction. Kogoro is today's guest star. Ayako asks him what investigation caused him the most trouble and he answers that in truth, after each investigation, he can't resist falling asleep, so he doesn't remember a thing. Ran and Conan are in the audience. She says that's just like Kogoro while Conan thinks it's because Kogoro is sleeping. Everyone else laughs. Tonight's show has three hosts. Commercials are sent on.
 +
During the commercial break Ayako asks Matsuo what joke they are ending the show on. She notices him groaning. He tells her he's had heatburn since morning and then wonders where Suwa is. Ayako knows Suwa usually comes to watch, but maybe he was busy. Matsuo asks an aide to find Suwa.

The TV presenter Takashi Matsuo calls his colleague, Michihiko Suwa and tells him that he wants to meet him after the show in the conference room. Matsuo hangs a photo of himself and Suwa, throws it across the room, and shoots it with a gun.
+
Ayako suggests they go for a drink after the show but Matsuo doesn't want to. He was going to be replaced but Suwa called him last night begging him to stay on. Wasn't the replacement idea was Suwa's? Matsuo says Suwa doesn't always know what he wants. Matsuo already has a new job elsewhere so he probably can't stay anyway.
 +
Suwa is in a meeting room on the fourth floor assuring over the phone he was watching the show from a monitor. The show implies Kogoro is uneasy with firearms while revealing Matsuo is a pro at handling firearms. Suwa talks to himself, noting that TV ratings have stabilized but if Matsuo was replaced with the most beautiful TV host and the show was re-worked to appeal to a wider audience.

Soon after the shipment is shown "Detective Agency", in which is always a special guest invited. This time it's Kogoro Mouri, who promptly pulls some pranks and the audience, among which there are also Conan and Ran, laugh. Kogoro brings the audience laugh by declaring that the use of mobile phones is even more dangerous, as they can be intercepted more easily than phones.
+
==== File 103 - Illusionary Road ====

During the so-called "four-minute thrillers", Suwa's phone rings and Suwa answers. It's Matsuo and Matsuo tells Suwa that he will kill himself by jumping off the building. Suwa looks out the window by telling him to calm down but suddenly, the gunshot was heard.

==== File 104 - Flash News Deduction Show ====

After the four-minute thriller, Matsuo came back from the bathroom. Conan has solved the four-minute thriller now, while Ran is waiting for the resolution. It is now announced that the culprit has been the sister of the victim. As Ran herself would not have come to this solution. Later, the dead body of Michihiko Suwa is found.

Soon after, Inspector Megure and the police arrived at the crime scene to investigate. The crime scene investigators discovered the first three bullets. Kogoro deduces that the offender may have come through the door. Conan realizes that the victim was on the phone shortly before his death with someone and interested in for the person who called him last. It turns out that it was the last caller, the wizard. Since Matsuo was briefly away during the live show, he comes now under suspicion. He tries to overcome by stating that he could never be within the four minutes come from the TV studio to the conference room. Then the police test it out how long it takes for the track. Kogoro made it in a time of 6 minutes and 41 seconds, so Megure demands that he tries again. The result remains the same: It is impossible to run during the four-minute thrillers from the studio into the conference room and back.

Meanwhile, Conan speculates that Matsuo could be the culprit, but lack of evidence. However, the staircase between the ninth and the seventh floor is not monitored by cameras. He also discovered a storage room, which is located directly above the window of the conference room. Conan, who wonders why the killer called the victim, if he is to have it faced directly, comes a new idea, and it checks whether there are some on the road under the stockroom bullet holes - and in fact, he discovered what he was looking for. Now it is clear how the killer has taken. So when Matsuo is called during the repetition, Conan has the evidence he needs.

=== File 104 - Flash News Deduction Show ===

<spoiler>

Conan deceives Kogoro, puts him in the storage room, puts him to sleep with his stun gun wristwatch, borrows a paint gun, and staged a "Live Show" with the sleeping Kogoro appearing before the police on the screen.

In this way, he reconstructed the crime and prove his conclusions immediately: The culprit is '''Takashi Matsuo'''. Matsuo called Suwa, because he claimed to want to kill himself. Therefore, Suwa was leaning out the window of the conference room, to see it with his own eyes. Matsuo, who has been in a further floor above the storage room had, from the window just vertically shoot down because Suwa has learned far enough out of the window. Because the window can be tilted along a horizontal central axis, it is returned to the murder back to the starting position, so it looks as if the offender had shot from the front and not from above. That it was so, the bullet holes show on the road.

Conan reconstruct the crime by pretending to fall out the window. At that moment, hits Megure from the top to add a splash of color from the gun. While he was shooting from the storage room, Matsuo had not run up to the conference room could thus committing the murder during the four-minute thriller. The call log on the phone is the proof. Matsuo confesses to the murder. He killed him to prevent the radio show he has starred in from being cancelled by the victim.

In the end, when the case has completely cleared up, Kogoro wakes up so that Conan must flee.

==== File 105 - An Important Person!? ====

Conan wakes up to catch Ran sneaking out of the house. She says she is going to meet Shinichi for breakfast, which makes Conan happy until he wakes up enough to realize that Ran can't possibly be going to meet ''him''. Though he tries not to care, he ends up following her with the excuse he wants to see Shinichi as well. Ran admits that she isn't meeting with Shinichi, but all she'll tell Conan about her 'date' is that it's someone important to her. When Conan refuses to leave, Ran goes out to get some cakes to bribe him with. Conan watches other cafe patrons arrive: a woman in dark hair and sunglasses who keeps checking her watch, a graduate student with his thesis, and a beautiful lady lawyer with an appointment. As Conan watches her, he gets a strong vibe that makes him think she's angry. Another patron arrives, a big man with a bandage on his ring finger who sits immediately at the bar. The dark-haired woman asks after the bathroom, though she already knows that they're not gender-separated. The odd knowledge piques Conan's interest before his thoughts are interrupted by the arrival of Shiro Wakaoji, a handsome young man with a scheduled rendezvous. Shiro's phone rings and he brags to a friend about how easily he'll be able to take advantage of his date, whose description sounds like she could be Ran.

Before Conan can do anything, Ran calls him on the restaurant phone, explaining her delay and asking if anyone was looking for her. Conan describes Shiro as "someone with long hair", which Ran affirms must be her date even though the hair is usually tied back, like Shiro did just after getting of his phone. Shiro goes into the bathroom just before Ran hangs up to come back to the cafe. However, almost immediately, Shiro screams because he found blood oozing out of a bathroom stall. Conan rushes in and after finding the stall door stuck, jumps up to peer over the top. The dark-haired woman from before, Yayoi Himeno, is messily dead on the floor.

Ran arrives at the café, joining the crowd gawking at the crime scene. Inside, Megure confirms with Conan that Yayoi's body was up against the stall door, dead from a knife to the heart. In addition, a red line around her neck implies that she was likely  strangled unconscious before she died. Megure concludes that Yayoi was the unlucky victim of robber who fled through the bathroom window. Conan protests that the window is clean, but when Megure sees no significance to the point the lady lawyer says that Megure should listen to Conan. Megure recognizes her with surprise, but before Conan can ask from where, she explains that the window should be bloody if a blood-spattered robber escaped through it. Because the weapon was also left behind, the culprit must still be one of the café patrons, who tried to disguise the murder as a robbery. Her quick deductions leave Conan in awe for matching him and a bit intimidated.

In order to leave the stall, the murderer had to climb over the top of the stall door, which the lawyer (Ms. Kisaki) proves is possible for some people. Following Kisaki's admonishment to find the culprit quickly, Megure tries to find who else visited the toilet. Conan volunteers that the four patrons he had been watching all did, including Kisaki, who smirks and compliments his memory. All four suspects explain why they came to the café. Conan finds himself oddly certain that something is different from before the murder, but he can't pinpoint what. Given the victim's behavior, he realizes the meeting place must have been the toilets, not the café, and suggests Megure have everyone try to fit over the stalls. Only Sumeragi and Kisaki fit, but the conclusive evidence of the strangling-string is absent. The ribbon Sumeragi uses to tie his books is found, but he denies being the murderer. Conan believes him because he used the toilet first and Yayoi didn't simply follow him in. As a result, Kisaki is the primary suspect, but if so then her involvement in the investigation is strange.

Conan's thoughts are interrupted by a CSI officer leaving with the knife—as it passes by, Conan realizes there is blood spatter on the entire knife except for a thin strip of the blade next to the handle. He snatches the knife evidence bag to look closer, and realizes he also has blood on one of his hands. The only place it could have happened was in looking over the stall door, but there's no way it should have been there. In a flash of inspiration, Conan realizes why and how it could be there, and thus who the murderer is. However, he still needs to find the string as evidence. Kisaki interrupts his thoughts to return the evidence bag; Conan finds it hard to think for some reason when facing her, but then notices the wedding ring on her finger and realizes what he missed before.

Conan realizes the culprit and evidence while Megure accuses Sumeragi of being the murderer. To prevent a wrong arrest, Conan draws attention to the blood on top of the door, which doesn't fit with someone climbing out of the stall. He then draws attention to the knife, and how the culprit likely has no blood on them, but something was tied to the knife to pull it out of the victim from a distance. Kisaki picks up on Conan's train of thought to conclude that the ''victim'' passed over the door rather than the murderer.

<spoiler>The only person strong enough to perform such a task is '''Juzo Tonoyama''', but Kisaki admits there is insufficient proof. However, Conan calls out the fact that Juzo's bandage is now on his middle finger, whereas when he arrived it was on his ring finger as part of his "story". Megure realizes the bandages were used to strangle Yayoi and then tied to the knife. Juzo tries to escape by charging Eri, only to be stopped cold by a perfect Judo throw. Conan feels a strange ''deja vu'' witnessing it. It turns out that Juzo was having an affair with Yayoi, and he killed her when she asked him to marry her out of fear she would reveal his infidelity to his wife.

After Tonoyama is taken away by the police, Conan refocuses on who the person Ran was meeting must be. When Ran finally makes it into the restaurant, Conan calls out Shiro on his attitude, but Ran doesn't know him and is confused by Conan's behavior. It turns out that Sonoko was the man's intended rendezvous, while Ran's meeting was with Kisaki—her mother. Conan is shocked, and finds himself hiding behind Ran while they walk together because his body reflexively remembers the times Kisaki berated them for getting into trouble as children. Ran brings up that it has been ten years since Eri left Kogoro, and suggests she come back. Eri vehemently refuses, but it's clear she retains some feelings for Kogoro. However, upon seeing Kogoro's behavior on his recent TV show, she warns Ran off getting involved with any childhood friends and storms off, leaving Conan to glare at Kogoro's image on TV.</spoiler>

==== File 108 - The Fasting Room ====

A baffling and seemingly impossible murder is committed at a secluded mountain temple. Luckily Conan and Kogoro are on the scene! It is believed that the terrible Mist Goblin (Kiritengu), a creature with super strength, haunts the temple. Conan doesn't believe in goblins, but he may have to change his tune as the evidence suggests that the Mist Goblin may be more than just a legend!

Young '''Shunen''' is the killer... as well as the younger brother of the deceased monk Chunen. Some time ago Chunen was in love with Tenei's granddaughter Kikuno, who not only was the heiress to the temple but had just accepted to marry another Buddhist monk from a very important monastery. Tenei was so upset at such an affair, that when he learned that Chunen and Kikuno were about to elope, he killed Chunen using exactly the same trick that Shunen later used on him (which is described below), managing to strangle the guy and then set the scene in such a way that it looked like a perfect killing by the Mist Goblin.

Shunen was always suspicious of Tenei and the other monks, so he hid his identity and entered the monastery to gain their trust and learn what had happened to his brother. He spent six months quietly snooping around, managing to more or less figure out how the murder was commited, but not the identity of the killer.

Shunen confronted Tenei right after the Mouris and Conan had gone to bed, having noticed how he had openly spoken about the Chunen incident when prior to that no one had ever menttioned it; under the effects of alcohol, Tenei told Shunen everything. The young novice begged his superior to turn himself in, but Tenei refused and said he'd rather let everyone think the Mist Goblin took Chunen's life, since such a "mystery" had let him raise the fame of the monstery. Shunen then lost it and used his newfound knowledge to kill Tenei in the same way Chunen died: he grabbed a rope, wrapped it around Tenei's neck, and pulled it as if he was carrying a heavy bag on his back (the "bag being, of course, Tenei).

==== File 109 - The Sakura Blossoms and the Hole in the Wall ====

After recovering his senses and seeing that he had murdered Tenei, Shunnen decided to use the same tricks Tenei used on Chunen to throw suspicions off him: placing the body in a lifeboat, using the nearby cascade water to slowly fill up the room, hanging Tenei's body from the ceiling, and then breaking the wooden wall (most of it was done naturally from the internal water pressure). The room was filled with water by taping the priest hole with wooden planks and a tool board was used to divert the waterfall cascade. This explains why no hanging marks were left on the ceiling beam. Shuunen failed to dispose of the duct tape he used to tape the hole however containing his fingerprints. He is arrested promptly.

  • TV Station Murder Case

    File 102 - A Death During a Live Broadcast

    File 105 - An Important Person!?

    Conan wakes up to catch Ran sneaking out of the house. She says she is going to meet Shinichi for breakfast, which makes Conan happy until he wakes up enough to realize that Ran can't possibly be going to meet him.

    File 106 - The Weapon Of The Crime

Following Eri's admonishment to find the culprit quickly, Megure tries to find who else visited the toilet. Conan volunteers that the four patrons he had been watching all did, including Eri, who smirks and compliments his memory. Only Yuichi and Eri fit, but the conclusive evidence of the strangling-string is absent. The ribbon Yuichi uses to tie his books is found, but he denies being the murderer. Conan believes him because he used the toilet first and Yayoi didn't simply follow him in. As a result, Eri is the primary suspect, but if so then her involvement in the investigation is strange.

    File 107 - The Two Mysteries

    Conan realizes the culprit and evidence while Megure accuses Yuichi of being the murderer. To prevent a wrong arrest, Conan draws attention to the blood on top of the door, which doesn't fit with someone climbing out of the stall. He then draws attention to the knife, and how the culprit likely has no blood on them, but something was tied to the knife to pull it out of the victim from a distance. Eri picks up on Conan's train of thought to conclude that the victim passed over the door rather than the murderer.
