Latest revision as of 02:44, 27 November 2024

The cover of the first volume released in Japan by Shogakukan on June 18, 1994.

The Detective Conan manga was first serialized in the fifth issue of Weekly Shōnen Sunday in 1994, written and drawn by Gosho Aoyama, and has appeared there since. The first tankoubon was also published by Shogakukan on June 1994 with 9 chapters; it has spanned 100 published volumes as of September 10, 2024, and continues today. The manga has been highly popular in Japan; the tankoubon has received multiple first places in bestselling lists.[1]. From volume 2 to 23, with the exception of volumes 5 and 21 with 11 chapters, each volume contained 10 chapters. From volume 24 to volume 104, with the exception of volumes 26-27, 37-38, 40, 48-54, and volume 83 with 10 chapters, each volume contained 11 chapters. Since volume 105, each volume contains 10 chapters.

Viz Media publishes Case Closed manga in the United States and Canada while Gollancz published the manga in the United Kingdom using Viz Media's English translation. However, the company stopped after 15 volumes, and now Viz handles UK distribution.[2] Other than the adaptation of character names used in the anime version, there is no significant change between the English translations and the Japanese versions.

You can also view the below content as Manga Listed By Case, which lists out the individual cases and their Shōnen Sunday release dates as well as anime adaptation release dates.
