Case

Situation

A random attacker is targeting women. Two victims survived, but Himena Shinozaki is not lucky.

Murder

Someone named Hikaru, who lived near the crime scene, witnesses the murder.

The next day, the police are investigating the crime scene when Kogoro, Conan, and Ran appears. Conan notices that someone is looking from a house nearby. A woman tells him that it is Komori residence, where Hikaru and his mother live. Hikaru is known as shut-in, currently unemployed, and a Yoko Okino's big fan. Kogoro and Conan try to question Hikaru, but he only text his mother that he did not see anything. Conan deduces that Hikaru might actually see something or the culprit might saw Hikaru.

Later, Conan notice that one of Hikaru's shoes is dirtier than other shoes. His mother then realizes that some Yoko Okino sneakers is missing.

Kogoro, Conan, and Ran decide to go home. When there is a news coverage about Yoko Okino Dome Tour, Conan realizes what actually happened.

The one who witnessed the murder is the real Hikaru's friend, Shinobu Kageyama. He was swapping places with Hikaru who went to the Yoko Okino Dome Tour. That night, Hikaru had returned home. However, he was mistaken by the culprit as the one who witnessed the murder. He was beaten and knocked unconscious by the culprit and was brought to the culprit's house. The culprit is Shino Tachibana.

Shino tells Hikaru that it is his fault since he witnessed her murder Himena last night from his room. Hikaru then understood what Shinobu meant by "I've got nothing to do with this anymore". He then gives up and prepares to lose his life as his feels like he's been abandoned. However, before Shino could kill Hikaru, Conan and Shinobu manage to save him. The reason Shino attacked those women remains unknown although it is implied that her reason was that the younger generation in her eyes was infecting the world and she wanted to fix that.

In the aftermath, Ran shows a picture of Hikaru and Shinobu establishing a start-up company together. Meanwhile, Kogoro is searching online for a double of himself. He intends to take it easy while his double is working. He also says he'll use him to make money and laughs. Conan chuckles as he hears Kogoro's nonsense.

Trivia

• None of the one-shot characters introduced had their names shown through introduction boxes. Their names are known through dialogues. Moreover, Shino Tachibana's name is only known through end credit.
