Midori Kuriyama (栗山 緑 Kuriyama Midori?) is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background

Midori Kuriyama is the secretary of Eri Kisaki. She is a young secretary from Tokyo and studied in law in an unknown university. She quickly joined the Kisaki law firm just after Kogoro separated and Eri created her own law firm. She was integrated as a secretary and works all week since the law firm is pretty busy. She usually comes a bit early at the office to tidy up and organize before Eri comes. She takes care of phone calls, visits, publicity and many other programs that Eri can't necessarily take care of.

Personality

She is a pretty nice lady out of her work and even while working, she likes to joke and have chit-chats. She always keep her good mood and likes to help people and give feedbacks. She doesn't get angry after people and always keep her nice welcomings for the guests.

Plot overview

The Similar Princesses (Manga: Volume 40: 413-416, Anime: 333-334)

Midori enters the office to remind Eri Kisaki of upcoming meetings, but is told to reschedule them as Eri's forced to go save Kogoro Mouri from accumulating millions of yen in debt. As her boss leaves, Midori comments on how Eri seems oddly excited for someone "forced" into doing something.

Lawyer Kisaki's SOS (Manga: Volume 93: 984-986, Anime: 901-902)

Midori is hit unconscious by Eri's kidnappers in her office. Before the incident, she is playfully teasing Eri on how she is self-conscious about her stomach rumbling in front of her husband but doesn't mind in front of a client. She brings Eri food and Eri thanks her. Later in the case, Takagi goes to the office to investigate lawyer Kisaki's disappearance and retrieve Midori who is unconscious. She is then brought to the hospital by two paramedics and quickly recovers.

Non-canon plot overview

The Fourteenth Target (Movie: 2)

Eri Kisaki enters her office where Midori greets her politely and set her up. As Eri compliments her brooch which was beautiful, Midori finds the pile of letters from the mail and discovers a box of swiss chocolate among the messages and thinks it might be from a secret admirer of Eri and hands the box to her. She tastes one of the pieces and, before she could flavor its essence, Eri faints and fell on the ground. Her secretary then calls the police and yells about what happened. Luckily, it wasn't fatal and Eri was quickly brought to the hospital. It is the first case she appears and it is before she is officially made canon by Gosho Aoyama.

Captured in Her Eyes (Movie: 4)

Midori is being called at her boss' office by Conan Edogawa who asks her where was Eri Kisaki since he was worried by what could happen to Ran Mouri who was targeted by a serial killer who wanted to kill her since she witnessed him attempting to kill Miwako Sato. Midori answers him that they were gone to Tropical Land with Kogoro and Ran so Conan, understanding the gravity of the situation hangs up and Midori too who tells him goodbye.

The Private Eyes' Requiem (Movie: 10)

Eri arrives in her office and wave hi to Midori as usual. The latter then asks her assistant to bring a cold refreshment for her. Following her rules, Midori brings her a glass of iced tea.
