The third finger print on the gun was Teraoka's wife, Misako. She accidently touched the unidentified and hidden gun of Teraoka. Conan knew the gun Teraoka used was his own given how he heard an odd "clank" sound when he entered his car. It was the sound of the gun holstered underneath his pants. He killed Matsuyama because the victim threatened to reveal how Teraoka was taking bribes to reveal information about police operations unless he give him money to allow him to escape from another murder he committed and flee the country.

• The Funimation Dub changes the cirumstances of Teraoka/Edwards' cooperation with the crook. The new version had him accepting money to pay for a badly ill daughter's medical treatments.

• Tompson and Mira's daughter in the dub is named Bree Edwards.

• Inspector Teraoka's car is a 1990-1993 Dark Blue Porsche 911 Carrera [964]. The license plate number is 新宿 33, て 84-62 (Shinjuku 33, Te 84-62).
