Situation
Three people who are troublemakers are found dead. After the police found 30 million yen in Yasuho Shida's apartment, Conan suspects that they are the culprit of the robbery three days ago.

Conan deduces that they become greedy and decide to kill each other.
Later, Chiba meet a child named Mamoru Nishikawa, who saw a suspicious man trying to enter Shida's apartment. Chiba later suspects the victim's middle school teacher, Kokichi Minamide. Chiba discovers that Minamide had tried to reform those three victim's behavior during middle school, but his efforts never paid off. Chiba deduced that Minamide decide to kill them after he heard that they stole 30 million yen.
In the end, Minamide is confirmed to have an alibi. They continue to search the suspicious man. Meanwhile, Conan ask Mamoru more about the suspicious man. He later found the suspicious man in another apartment building.

- This episode shares many similarities with the episode The Devil's Circuit.
- The three suspects' name have kanji that follow each other:
- Takeshi Mitsumoto (光本 猛志) starts with "光" and ends with "志" ;
- Yasuho Shida (志田 康保) starts with "志" and ends with "保" ;
- Yorimitsu Hosaka (保坂 頼光) starts with "保" and ends with "光".
- The other characters that are not suspects are named after cardinal directions:
- Officer Higashino (東野巡査) is named after "east" (東 higashi ) ;
