Kenichi Takeshita graduated from Tokyo Designer Gakuin College (東京デザイナー学院); currently affiliated with Studio Live (スタジオ・ライブ). He began his career as a production assistant on Toei's Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン). Furthermore, Takeshita excels in the scope of storyboarding and direction; recently he has also begun serving as a supervisor and screenwriter.
Takeshita joined the production of the Detective Conan anime in 2013, when he directed Episode 718: The Devil's Circuit. Due to his identity a huge soccer fan, in the next year, he produced Episode 742: Promise with a J-Leaguer.
