| + | == The 'copy and paste'-problem... == |
| | | |
− | In any case, welcome to you Conan fan! I really appreciate your comments. And yes, I would also definitely like some help with the wiki. The more, the merrier. :P
| + | good evening, senpai. thanks again for the warm welcome. also for adding me as you friends.. sorry, i didnt noticed earlier. actually a have two questions concerning your last comment on the discussion section of the german wiki. |
| + | *first one is about the slogan 'one truth prevails': as you noticed, i tried to research for some other english wiki, since some of our members mentioned them... my question is about the wiki 'onetrueprevials... the detectiveconanworld wiki didnt fusion with them, didnt you? im a little bit confused, since both of you use the same slogan... maybe this is part of the american 'case closed' publications, no? |
| + | *second one is about the 'copy and past'-problem: as i mentioned in my comment, i also dont like copy and paste articles... same to you, i think. on the other hand, the gfdl allows to copy or modify article explicitly. so, for the detectivconan.wikia i would prefer the word 'copied' instead of 'stolen', since, at least they linked detectiveconanworld as the source for their articles. maybe its better, to link to the taken article directly... but you can comment or correct their references very easy, i think. ones more again, i really dont like article with only one source.. especially when they are copied by another page, since this isnt very useful, i think. on the other hand, detectiveconanworld also allows others to copy articles from the wikipedia with the information note on the mainpage... the gfdl only says, you have to keep up a history file for an article / document published under this licence and to recognize former authors, i think. |
| + | anyway, thanks for taking your time, reading the german dc-wiki as well. lg.--Rikku 00:32, 17 July 2010 (UTC) |
| + | :good morning. thanks for your message...and take some rest first, please :) it would be much more comfortable, if you answer directly on this page, i think. so we can avoid kind of 'fragmented conversation'. i will check out detectiveconanworld frequently... and when i finished this summers exams, id like to help out also. lg--Rikku 12:38, 17 July 2010 (UTC) |

− | My main objective at the moment is to focus on the Characters section. Then, work on the episodes, season by season. I'll eventually come up with a task list of some sort.
| + | Apologies for butting in but I'm not sure what questions CC has answered. :) |
− | And don't hesitate to provide ideas and/or feedback. They are most welcome!
| |
− | Anyway, see you around and I hope you have fun here! :)

− | :Yeah, each episode will have its own page. This way we can provide as many details as possible. And details are good! ^^ --Maurice 06:10, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
| |
− | ::Mm, I was thinking of the Japanese name of the episode as the page name just like it is in Wikipedia for famous series like Lost, House, etc... For example, for the first episode, it would be Roller Coaster Murder Case. How does that sound? --Maurice 06:29, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
| |
− | :::Sounds good for the English redirects. I'll also try to work on the InfoBox for the character's page whenever I can. --Maurice 17:34, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
| |
− | ::::Mm, not yet but feel free to go ahead and create the Sandbox page or make one for you: User:CarpetCrawler/Sandbox. ^_^ --Maurice 18:30, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
| |
− | :::::That template looks good. As for creating templates here, just create a page that starts with "Template:". In our current case here, it would be something like Template:InfoBox Episode. Check out :Category:Templates for some examples of templates we already have here. --Maurice 03:53, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
| |
− | ::::::It's alright. Just get some rest and get better! :) See you around! --Maurice 14:44, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

| | | |
− | == Hey! ==
| + | 1) Yes, "One truth prevails!" is the American dub equivalent of "Shinjitsu wa itsumo hitotsu!" |
| + | 2) I'm the one who added the Detective Conan World source. The person in charge of that Wiki never asked our permission or credited us for the material. I was mad so I added the source to all of the articles. --Skyechan 20:59, 17 July 2010 (UTC) |
| | | |
− | I'm doing good! What about you? As for help regarding the wiki, it's pretty tough finding people who know (and are interesting in) DC and are also willing to edit a wiki. I actually even posted some classifieds a while ago but no one replied. I'll try doing it again sometime soon.. Any luck on your side? --Maurice 11:52, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
| + | == Conan Goes London == |
| + | Where do you think would be the best place to put that Shinichi/Conan has finally gotten to visit his beloved London, home of Holmes? Also that, because Conan is already in London, he accidentally sounds un interested when Ran tells him that she's there over the phone and as a result pisses her off? − | == Help! == | + | == Priorities == |
| | | |
− | It's alright. I'll take a look. ^^ --Maurice 14:53, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
| + | I've read the projects page, but the matter of priorities still leaves me a bit confused, especially where manga vs. anime summaries fall. At the moment I'm mostly browsing, correcting (what appear to be) mistakes as I see them, and expanding a section or two. I'd feel a bit more useful if I knew what content was the top priority, especially if it's shifted around at all since the priorities page was last updated. |
− | :Sounds good! I was trying to think of the best way to display the list of episodes for a given season. Hopefully, I'll come up with a template soon enough for that one. --Maurice 23:19, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

| | | |
− | == Episodes ==
| + | On a semi-related-but-mostly-not note, I went into epic fits of squee when the Crystal Mother chapter was released via the efforts here and by Abs. Is there any chance a re-release of other poor quality chapters, especially involving Saguru, being tackled? I'm a fair typesetter and cleaner and would happily contribute, but my translation skills are marginally better than useless. --Ocianne 09:43, 18 October 2010 (UTC) |

− | Thanks! :)<br>
| |
− | Regarding the "solved by" thing, what I was thinking of at the time was that we should show both the "proxy" and the actual one who solved the case. Something along the line of "Kogoro Mouri (via Conan)". Because in some of the episodes, the case gets solved by both Heiji and Conan. In some others, by Shinichi and in one episode (I read about), Kogoro actually solved one! :o<br>
| |
− | So, showing both would be a great way to help the reader instantly understand the role the protagonists had in that one episode.

| | | |
− | Hey! Yeah, sorry for the delay. I'm usually too tired during the week, when I come back home, to do anything much.. :/<br>
| + | See subject please. :) Chekhov MacGuffin 05:21, 12 December 2010 (UTC) |
− | But, yeah, I've seen your changes. Good work! :)<br>
| |
− | Just one little note: Since we already have InfoBox_Char and InfoBox_TV, it would be good to keep it standard and call the movie one InfoBox_Movie (instead of Infobox_Movie). Also, wherever there's the "Case solved by" field, we could make a link to the one(s) who solved the case. Example: Kogoro Mouri (via Conan). Also notice that "via" should start with a small "v". I know, lots of small details lol. It's just that I like to follow standards, which is also part of my job as a web developer. :D<br>
| |
− | In any case, keep up the great work! I really appreciate it. I'll try to help out whenever I get some time. ^^ --Maurice 14:36, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

− | == Logo == | + | == I added "The Criminal" page == |
| | | |
− | Ooh, that's a good find regarding the logo. It looks like it happens whenever there's another "/" after "wiki/". The logo is most likely being pointed to from a relative path and the slash makes it look like there's a sub-folder. Which means the logo cannot be found. I'll definitely fix it during my next batch of updates/fixes. And great work with the episodes! As for Sango Yokomizo, it's really awesome! I'm quite impressed actually. I love how we've been pouring in our own content instead of just copy/pasting text from other sources like Wikipedia (we still do but we don't just do that). That's definitely good! :)<br>
| + | Hey, I didn't know whether or not this was okay or not, but I thought it was such a big part of DC that it had to be at least mentioned. I added it in the Character's section. Like I said, I don't know whether or not this is okay, but I wanted to make it so you could see if this was appropriate or not. Please take a look at it. I hope you like it! -- Apotoxin4869 15:51, 19 December 2010 (UTC) |

− | == Images ==
| |
| | | |
− | Sure, sounds great! As for the 60px and 100px, they're all pretty much ok anyway. The only ones that kind of concern me are the real cheesy ones, like the ones for Mitsuhiko, Genta, Inspector Megure and Shiratori in Characters. They look, mm, what's the word, too simplistic? But I guess we'll eventually change those at some point in any case.

− | And that would really be awesome if you're able to get in touch with those people that work on the english Wiki! Good luck! :P
| + | Arigatou! I am argentinian, so my english isn´t very good. But i am a big fan of DC and i want to help. see you later! |
| | | |
− | P.S: I also added a note to the characters page's talk page regarding the Law Enforcement being broken down into parts.
| + | Excuse me CC, can you tell me how to change the username in the wiki? Thanks! |

− | :Sorry, Apart from a few early episodes and all the movies and OVAS I have only read the manga, and Tome-san only appears in the anime (possibly the only recurring character like that, as most other anime original characters ended up in the manga, like Takagi and Shiratori). − | :::Yeah, but I might contribute other stuff too, especially since this wiki is still trying to get off the ground it seems. Sorry, I wasn't fond at all of the English dub. Mainly because of the name changes (I'm one of those fans, although I'm usually reasonable about it), but also I couldn't stand Kogoro's english voice... like, at all. As a guy I don't want to say this but it's the only word I can think of that describes it best: I think Yokomizo is... cute. He seems so intimidating but he backs down as soon as he upsets someone. I thought it was hilarious when Sonoko's grandpa was trying to catch Kaitou Kid and she wanted to be the bate so Kid and Makoto could fight over her. I haven't finished the manga yet (at chapter 518 or so) so I've only seen Eisuke once, but I loved what I saw. NakagawaRyou 04:41, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
| + | Pretty much. I have his page watched because often times I can get to requests before he does. I was about to add that I found a really small Japanese wikia style wiki, but it only has something like 42 pages. I wonder if a more complete Japanese DC wiki exists because I tried googling for one a few days ago. | + | No problem! I'm just glad that I am able to help out and contribute to such a great site! I actually have an Excel spreadsheet I made that lists all appearances made thus far by each character. Each column represents a character while every row represents a chapter. Then there is various color coding and such for flashbacks, appearances, name mentions, etc. It took me weeks to finish but it was worth it in the end! Now I just have to continue putting up the info. :) Thank you for your kind words! --Jigsaw 17:25, 26 July 2011 (UTC) |

| + | In relation to the Voice-Changing Bowtie, I was going to add the usage of it from Lupin III vs. Detective Conan. − | == Conan page and Shiho page ==
| |
− | Remember when we were talking about making a seperate page for Conan? Well,when we were discussing it, you suggested doing a seperate page for Shiho Miyano as well. I forgot to say I don't think that's necessary. While Conan and Shinichi can be considered 2 seperate characters because of the flashbacks to Shinichi's past and the fact that Conan uses a different personality and what not, There's really no difference in personality with Ai and Shiho, not to mention the fact that we only ever really see her as Ai. Just my 2 cents on the matter that I forgot to add.
| |

− | He's only appeared once so far in the manga, but he was part of the plot, a case where three men named Kojima might be the culprit in a murder. − | ==Chiba again==
| |
− | Hate to bring this up again, but before I make a page for the voice actor Isshin Chiba, I want to know what we are going to do about Chiba's name. Once again, I'd like to point out that I have never heard or read the character being referred to as Isshin Chiba and the Japanese wikipedia even refers to him simply as Chiba. It'd be a pain for me to title the page Isshin Chiba (voice actor) and then go back and rename all of the links to the page as Isshin Chiba because we later change our minds to "Nah, his name's just Chiba". This is also the reason why I haven't done many voice cast listing for episodes lately, because he does ALOT of voices on the show. Even though I'm for renmaing the character page to Chiba or Officer Chiba, I can go either way, I'd just like to know which before I make the page and redo links (since most of the cast listings I've done so far are Isshin Chiba as Officer Chiba and such). Thank you for yer time. NakagawaRyou 20:14, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

− | :Cool, I'll prob'ly make Isshin Chiba's page later tonight then (need a more adequate list of Other Notable Roles, since regrettably I mainly know him from Conan). NakagawaRyou 23:37, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

− | :::Well, that's cool. Speaking of filler, saw the preview for the next episode, and it's clear to me that the whole purpose of the episode is to give fans a taste of the new Kogorou (lol). Made a buncha new voice actor pages, btw. NakagawaRyou 06:09, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

The ones I have planned next are Fumihiko Tachiki (Vodka), Kotono Mitsuishi (Kir), Mami Koyama (Vermouth), Junko Noda (Eisuke), Nobuyuki Hiyama (Makoto), Akira Ishida (Hakuba), Nobutoshi Kanna (Matsuda), Masaharu Sato (Musashi from Yaiba), and Masako Katsuki (Shizuka). − | Hey, thanks for the heads up! I have Kaspersky and haven't had any issues going to that site at all. I also have a security plugin on Firefox that should let me know if this site is suspicious or not but it did not warn me of anything. Maybe it's just a small javascript scrip that's triggering the McAfee auto-defense mechanism. Shouldn't be anything serious if that's the case. I'll keep an eye on this though and eventually do some more in-depth investigation in the future. --Maurice 15:35, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

− | | |
− | *If I understood you correct, you asked me, if we have some information/ages of charakters in our wiki, that you don't have. In Germany, the charakters are named like in the original japanese manga. If you want to copy some information from our wiki, you can do it. There is no copyright on information, that everyone can search on his own in the manga or the anime ;-) Philipp S. 11:00, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

| |
− | | |
− | Hey! I made one small change to the login system to make sure that lowercase usernames would still work when logging into the wiki (basically, they will be capitalized dynamically). But, I remember you had some login issues a long time ago which I fixed then. I just want to make sure that the change I did, did not affect that fix in some weird way (it should not normally). So, would you mind logging out then back in to make sure there are no problems? Also, make a small edit somewhere to ensure it displays "CarpetCrawler" correctly (with the correct case for each letter). Thanks! :) --Maurice 03:28, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

− | For me, it's more for the sake of not being misleading (like, as you said, if a character only appears in one part of a multi-part episode, it reflects that better) and characters like Camel who, according to the current method, only appears twice (or once? don't know about the anime, but Camel has appeared in about 4 stories so far in the manga). NakagawaRyou

− | | |
− | Thanks for mentioning when he got arrested, I couldn't remember his second major appearance for the life of me. But all in all it's: The Hidemi Hondou saga, the time when he's a suspect in a case, the bank robbery where Akai reappears, and most recently a bomb scare at the mall (he accompanied Jodie as she once again tried to find Akai). I believe that's it. Yamato and Uehara have also made a second appearance. NakagawaRyou 22:19, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

− | I don't remember anything about a red wall, but then again I don't really remember the rest of the case either (not the second half at least). But yeah, the BO weren't involved with the Bomb Scare, but they were major characters in the arc. NakagawaRyou 02:11, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

− | | |
− | :The only arc coming up in the anime that I know of is, as you pointed out to me, the Red Wall (Yamato vs Koumei) arc, so I don't know what you mean. Since the "death" of Akai in the manga, Camel has appeared shopping for wine with Jodie and James in the bank robbery arc where Akai mysteriously reappears, and in the Dangerous Mall arc where he accompanies Jodie as she searches for more traces of Akai (once again, Jodie tries to pass him off as her boyfriend when she comes across Ran and Kogoro). NakagawaRyou 05:15, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
| |
− | | |
− | ::677 and 679 are the first and last chapter in bank robbery arc. Jodie goes wine shopping with James and Camel, Camel accidentally brings up Akai and upsets her. She walks alone and sees Akai, follows him into a bank (where Conan and the Detective Boys are dropping something off for Agasa... i think), and they get caught up in a bank heist. The mall story begins with Vodka telling Gin about how he saw Akai in the crowd of the bank heist hostages on the news, so it's prob'ly the bank heist arc that's coming up first. Anyway, I don't really remember Yusaku appearing in the Desperate Revival arc at all, so yer guess is better than mine. The Kudos appear so infrequently (and it's usually just Yukiko) and haven't even appeared in forever, so I lose track of whenever they make small cameos. NakagawaRyou 05:26, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
| |
− | | |
− | :::(slaps forehead) That's right! I forgot about the flashback of young Yusaku and Yukiko. Thanks, that'll make looking for him in the manga easier. Anyway, Camel only plays a minor part in both cases (especially the bank heist). Although he and Jodie are frequent throughout the entire Dangerous Mall case, they don't really get involved. By the way, the bank heist arc is where it's implied Jodie and Akai were lovers. NakagawaRyou 05:38, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

− | :: I'll leave this up to you and change links to reflect yer decision (if I need to), but Koumei is only once so far referred to by his actual name (I think), he is typically called Koumei. How should the article be named? NakagawaRyou 05:57, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

− | | |
− | : Well, Momose made a single-chapter appearance recently in the manga, and when I looked through the Festival Dolls Case in the manga he didn't have a proper introduction, so I thought maybe he appeared prior to that and I just didn't remember. | |
− | I'm making a DC sampler dvd for a friend, with episodes that show off most of the cast (save the FBI). Because the Matsuo episode was referenced in Eri's first episode, I had to get the Matsuo episode as well. While skimming through the episode I got to the credits and noticed that the character and his voice actor had the same exact kanji. I said "holy shit", and looked it up on the Japanese wiki, which verified what I have submitted. ^^ NakagawaRyou 09:21, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
