While still in shock about seeing Bourbon again, Conan is hit by a tennis racket, which has slipped from the sweaty hand of a nearby tennis player. Amuro takes care of Conan, and he is brought to the house the tennis player lives in, where a doctor cheks him and pronounces him healthy. Everyone decides to have lunch then and there, and Conan joins Shingo Numano because in the living room the airco isn't working.

At about 3 o'clock Conan wakes up to find Numano dead from a vase to the head, and a tennis racket underneath the body. People suspect he swung the racket, lost the grip, sent the racket into a shelf (the mark is there) and when picking the racket up, the vase fell upon him. Conan has his doubts, however.
