Kaitou Kid suddenly appears to commit heists after an eight year hiatus! Meanwhile, high schooler Kaito Kuroba discovers a secret room inside his house and a silk hat and mantle that belonged to his deceased father, Toichi Kuroba. Donning the outfit Kaito confronts Kaitou Kid and learns the truth about his father's death. Discovering his father was murdered, Kaito continues to commit heists as the new Kaitou Kid in order to learn the identities of his father's murderers. In the meantime, Kaito will have to contend with a visiting Princess and her trigger-happy bodyguard, a robot designed to look and act like him, surviving a date with Aoko while keeping his identity a secret, a pirate and his treasure buried under the sea, and a witch obsessed with forcing every boy to love her.
