Ethan Hondou (イーサン 本堂 Iisan Hondou ) is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.
Background
Ethan Hondou is also known by Conan as Eisuke Hondou and Hidemi Hondou (Mizunashi Rena or Kir)'s deceased father. He was once a CIA agent. Ethan committed suicide to protect Hidemi by making it look like she was the one who killed him. Ethan was seen with some of his friends at a shop saying "Good luck", "I'll dive in deeper", and "Be careful". Ethan was killed by Hidemi, his daughter, also known as Mizunashi Rena or Kir. After he was killed, a colleague from the CIA came in the warehouse he was killed in and started calling him "Hondou", the colleague was killed by the Black Organization, after that, they burned down the warehouse all this was witnessed by a homeless man living on the second floor of the warehouse, luckily, he escaped the burning warehouse. Sometime later, Shuuichi Akai found the homeless man and found out all these evidence that would be later used to help the FBI.

Ethan comes from Ethan Hunt from the 1996 Mission Impossible film, while Hondou comes from Bondo, the Japanese pronunciation of (James) Bond.
