Kogoro is asked to investigate a threatening phone call and an attempt to murder Toichiro Azuma by his secretary, Haruhiko Kasai. Having investigated the list of possible suspects that hold resentment towards Azuma for his underhanded business practices, Kogoro calls the suspects along with Azuma and his secretary to reveal the true culprit.
