Plot
Continuity
- Ran wears her winter school uniform (October 1st-May 31st).
- Twelfth chapter of the so-called "Conan Arc", a fan-coined term.
Cameos
- Masaki Negishi and Yutaka Abe are directly named after two of Gosho Aoyama's assistants. The latter one was also the author of 100% Tantei Monogatari Gosho assisted him with in turn and works on the manga adaptions of the movies and the novel illustrations nowadays.
Crossover
Yaiba
- At the end of the chapter, Conan Edogawa sleeps in front of the TV in the Mouri Detective Agency on which Yaiba Kurogane can be seen, wielding the Hao-ken with the energy blade he uses in his final battle against Takeshi Onimaru in his demon form during chapter 233-236 (Yaiba Volume 23, chapter 1-4). The real anime Kenyuu Densetsu Yaiba never adapted that story arc.
Real Life Models
Narita Airport
The airport everyone gathers and Conan Edogawa and Yutaka Abe have their duel at the end is the real Narita International Airport on the border between the towns of Narita and Shibayama in the Chiba Prefecture, which is part of the Greater Tokyo Area. It was the biggest and most important airport serving Tokyo back then, before it was replaced in this function by Haneda Airport. It was also where the Princess Anne of Sublina and Yaiba Kurogane arrived in Japan in Magic Kaito and Yaiba respectively.
Shōnen Sunday Q&A
Every issue of the Shōnen Sunday features a question asked by the magazine to the manga artists featured in it. The one accompanying this chapter was:
Playgrounds, such as public parks and amusement parks, that you recommend is
