Location: Tiger Trading building parking lot Victim: Torazo Fukamachi Age: 63 years old Time: A few days ago Injury: Blunt force trauma Suspects: Torahiko Fukamachi After an injury to the knee three years ago, Torazo decided to walk in the parking lot to train himself everyday as part of his rehabilitation but a few days ago, he tripped and fell on the parking block which injured him. He is then still unconscious at the hospital and people suspect it to be in fact attempted murder.

The culprit is Genichiro Iwata. He attempted to kill his boss, who didn't want to employ him anymore unless he learns how to do management work. He also planned to kill Torazo's driver after Makoto Ukaji blackmailed him. He set a bomb in the driver's car to kill both the driver and the director, and also to frame Torahiko. Kogoro then added that when Torahiko was still in high school, he stole gunpowder in Iwata's fireworks factory to build a bomb. Iwata and Ukaji are arrested.

Aftermath

In the end, Kogoro, Ran, and Conan go to Aruaru City shopping mall to the Best Detective Award Ceremony so Kogoro can receive his prize. Kogoro is overjoyed and happy to receive his prize from the Japanese Detective League and Conan is thinking that he's never heard of that organization. Kogoro is surprised he is given the trophy by Izumi and looks at her gorgeousness while Ran and Conan stares at him. He learns that in fact, the event is sponsored by Torazo who comes over in his wheelchair with Torahiko to greet him. He learns from Kiriyama that in fact, Torazo regained consciousness a few days ago and that he'd lost memories of the accident which is why they hired Kogoro in secret because even Izumi didn't know about it. Kiriyama also says that he won't become the president, Torazo is going to stay president a little bit longer until Torahiko becomes mature and takes over the reins of the company much at Ran's happiness. Izumi then tells Kogoro that the Japanese Detective League was in fact founded by Torazo to support Kogoro. Kogoro decides to make a bad joke making everyone feel bad about giving him the prize.

• This is the first TV original episode to cite Masumi Sera.
• Torahiko Fukamachi's car is a 2002 Purple Burgundy BMW 325i (E46/4; Facelift). The license plate number is 小倉 301, さ 25-46 (Kokura 301, Sa 25-46).
• In the end, the place where Kogoro receives his prize is in Aruaru City, a shopping mall in Kokura.
• The Kokura police cars are the same as the one who appeared in Mystery of the Burning Tent and The High School Girl Trio's Secret Café, but with the license place of Kokura instead of Shinjuku.
