Ayu Imoto (井元 愛夕 Imoto Ayu ) is a Japanese animator. She does key animation and animation direction for Detective Conan anime and movies.
Works in Detective Conan
Ayu was initially from Studio Mu. She joined the anime production in 2006, starting with the 1st part of The Sealed Western-Style Window, in which she did the in-between animation. The following year, she was promoted to key animator, and continued working in the series for seven years. Then, in 2014, she was shortly promoted to assistant animation director for the 2nd part of Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 9. After that, her work in the Detective Conan anime was an interlace between key animation and animation director, as well as assistant animation director.
Regarding her key animation work, from 2011 to 2013, she was mainly active in Kenichi Otomo's key animation group; from 2014 to 2016, she was mainly active in Nobuyuki Iwai's key animation group; from 2018 to 2020, she was mainly active in Asuka Tsubuki's key animation group.
