After investigating, Conan and Heiji reveal that Shakuren arranged the temple's blood-stained tatami mats so that the stains are hidden by tatami-squares in the bottom of the glass statue-cases positioned at the four corners of the room. Shakuren reveals that the body was Denkyuu's mother, who abandoned him eighteen years ago. He reveals that she committed suicide after Shakuren refused to give her back her son, when she could not even recognize which one of the monks at the temple he was.
