Crime is one of the central elements in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan by Gosho Aoyama. Crime appears in many forms throughout the whole series, with the most common being the act of Murder. Almost every case in Detective Conan involves one or multiple types of crimes, however, the extent and dangerous degree of which vary from case to case. The protagonists, along with the Law Enforcement and many other detectives, are responsible for preventing and fighting against these crimes.
A person who commits crime is usually called a "Criminal" (犯人 han'nin ).
