Models
Several of the clocks Yutaka Abe photographed himself with seem to be based on real ones, like the clock pillar in Kitanomaru Park and the flower clock in Shinjuku Central Park.
Shinjuku
Conan Edogawa is on the way back from the Beika Police Department to the Mouri Detective Agency together with Kogoro and Ran Mouri, during which he, with the help of his new glasses gadget, geolocates the tall man "4 kilometers to the northwest... in Shinjuku", which, if you take any point in Shinjuku, would encompass exactly the area tinted and framed in blue on the following map for Conan (and the part of Beika seen here) to potentially be in - consisting of a good chunk of the upper half of Minato, the lower half of Chiyoda and a remote southeast corner of the Shinjuku Ward itself.
Cameos
- Masaki Negishi and Yutaka Abe from the first case are directly named after two of Gosho Aoyama's assistants. The latter one was also the author of 100% Tantei Monogatari Gosho assisted him with in turn.
Crossover
Yaiba
- At the end of the first case, Conan Edogawa sleeps in front of the TV in the Mouri Detective Agency on which Yaiba Kurogane can be seen, wielding the Hao-ken with the energy blade he uses in his final battle against Takeshi Onimaru in his demon form during chapter 233-236 (Yaiba Volume 23, Chapter 1-4). The real anime Kenyuu Densetsu Yaiba never adapted that story arc.
- One of the stone statues inside the seemingly haunted house the newly founded Detective Boys enter during the last case of the volume is (fittingly enough) the Rock Soldier from the so-called "Pyramid Arc" of Yaiba, who appeared in chapters 178-181 (Yaiba Volume 18, Chapter 2-5).
