Fujino Miki is found strangled on the floor and we see Takagi and Chiba at the scene. Takagi finds a cafe card on the floor next to the victim's body and realises it doesn't belong to the victim as she has one in her purse. The detective boys spot Chiba at the convenience store and so he brings them along to investigate, as they watch the cafe from a window close by, (they have realised the card found at the scene belonged to a regular customer). As they watch the cafe a suspicious man enters wearing a cap, sunglasses, and a mask. The detective boys run to the cafe and Conan trying to find out who he is, says 'it's you Hayashi Sensei', which he denies, but they find out he has followed his wife who he suspects of cheating on him. Another suspicious person appears with a mask, cap and sunglasses on and doesn't have a stamp card, the detective boys run after him and Conan once again uses the same trick to try and catch him out by saying 'its you Hayashi Sensei' which he denies. The detective boys ask to see his face but he says no so they decide to pull his mask and cap off. They discover he is a celebrity, Naruoka Ryo who was trying to not get noticed in public and so he decides to run off. It's the end of the day so Takagi says we will have to try again tomorrow. The detective boys leave but eventually split up as Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko run back to get the sweets they left. Conan asks Haibara where they are but then realises who the culprit is and runs back towards the cafe. The culprit is seen stealing a cafe card to not be suspected. The detective boys are able to trap him and Chiba and Takagi arrive to arrest him.
