Hirokawa Shuichi (廣川 集一 Hirokawa Shuichi?, February 8, 1995 – August 20, 2012) is a Japanese animator. He takes part in the production of Detective Conan anime.

Biography

Hirokawa Shuichi debuted as production advancement in 1972 by virtue of the animation work Mazinger Z (マジンガーZ). Under the pseudonym Kazuyuki Hirokawa (広川 和之 Hirokawa Kazuyuki?), he directed Lensman (レンズマン).

On August 20, 2012, Shuichi was found deceased on the street in Nerima of Tokyo[1]. Before he passed away at 57 years old, he was yet responsible for serving as storyboard artist and episode director for the 45th episode of anime Inazuma Eleven GO (イナズマイレブンGO), thus have become his posthumous. According to his Twitter and Facebook posts during lifetime, he was a rather kind-hearted person; hence, when the news of his death was announced on Twitter, staff who knew him such as Sato Chiharu (佐藤 千春), along with the fans of his directed movie Space Warrior Baldios (宇宙戦士バルディオス), expressed their condolences for his sudden passing.
