Its prior owners, Jody Hopper's parents, died in a fire which the jewel survived. These two facts may have fueled its legend and made it an alluring target. Snake and some of his men tailed its current owner, Jody Hopper, during the day, and then posed as customers at dinner show performance of the Hopper Magician troupe at the Minato Hotel.
