As the Organization anticipated, Kaitou Kid stole the jewel first. Snake, leading a team of underlings, confronted Kid and grabbed his replica of Blue Birthday by mistake. Kaitou Kid revealed the jewel was not Pandora by holding it to the moonlight.	{{{5}}}

Its prior owners, Jody Hopper's parents, died in a fire which the jewel survived. Snake and some of his men tailed its current owner, Jody Hopper, and then posed as customers at dinner show performance of the Hopper Magician troupe at the Minato Hotel. The Organization's theft method was to have one member pose as Kaitou Kid (complete with functional hang glider) to draw away stationed police while Snake took the jewel at gunpoint backstage. Snake opened fire when the real Kaito interfered with the robbery.	{{{5}}}
