Robert Ironside was a detective created for TV by writer Collier Young, taking place in the 1960s to 1970s.
About
Paralyzed by a sniper from the waist down, former Chief of Detectives Ironside manages to trick the city's police commissioner into giving him a position as a special consultant, gaining two assistants as well, with a third joining later on.
Though wheelchair bound, Ironside manages time and again to solve his cases through determination and drive, getting himself out there despite his disability to solve the case.
